Atlanta-based artist Dose is set to release his debut mixtape, The OverDose, to follow-up on the success of his bubbling single, “Where They Do That At (remix, feat. Rick Ross & Fabolous).” The OverDose will focus on Dose’s ability to excel in not only making catchy hooks, but displaying a lyrical versatility not seen in the South since T.I.’s prime.

The Introduction: Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle & IYou already know what it is. From the way he greets you, to the words that he speaks. The uniform he wears is bold, aggressive and absolutely intimidating. He’s authentic -- the offspring of the West Coast’s most celebrated talent -- yet and still a novelty all his own. In an industry that’s fallen victim to bubble gum lyrics and erroneous dance fads to match, he’s the spokesperson the block wants for. He’s the sociopolitical outrage of Ice Cube and N.W.A. He’s Snoop Dogg before you knew his name and Ice T after an unexpected knock at 6 o’clock in the morning. He’s the very definition of Slauson & Crenshaw -- a self-inspired movement and a name you can trust. He is Nipsey Hussle. Nipsey gives you a break down on touring with Game & Jay Rock, his new album and his new mixtape “Bullets Aint got No Name Vol III’. I got a chance to hear one of the records, Nipsey doesn’t disappoint.

Tabi Bonney soars w/ 'Jet Setters'

Tabi Bonney shot a new video ‘JetSetters‘ over the weekend and invited me along for an exclusive behind the scenes look. Tabi Bonney is one of the most known hip hop artist from the DC area. Part of Indie label Organized Rhyme and son of afro-funk superstar, Itadi Bonney, Tabi achieved recognition in the Washington, DC Metro area with his radio singles “The Pocket” and “Doin It” featuring Raheem DeVaughn. This is by far one of my favorite records off his independent LP album “Dope“. The video was shot in the heart of DC on a rooftop that gave you 360 views of the whole area, I spotted the Washington Monument and the White house off in the distance.

Tabi used local dancers from the area, and pretty much directed this video. I really have to commend him, his passion, drive and humble attitude is something that shines through given the negative area he is from. Tabi proves he is a force to be reckoned with, given his directing, rapping, and hustling abilities. 2009 is looking bright for this shinning star, look out for Curren$y to be doing a remix version of “Jet Setters” on his “504′ mixtape…I mean its only right!?!

The Roundup: Young Chris, Young Money, Pusha T & Jae Millz Responds

Yesterday, I went to Baltimore, MD to see the “I Am Music” Tour for the millionth time…I invited Young Chris & Neef, to come check out the show. Chris let me know good news on his next album, said it’s going to be executive produced by Mark Ronson & Jay Z, which is HUGE! Congratulations to him! Rather than give you the typical photos of the concert, and my camera died which sucked, check out pictures of the first Young Money photo shoot that took place last week.  As you can see Lil’ Wayne is moving forward with his crew, and making them the next big thing. Jae Millz & I chopped it up for a bit, and l let him know the interview with Jabari/HiphopGame wasn’t been excepted well by commenter’s, because of certain statements he made. Jae Millz really didn’t understand why, “Atleast I didn’t say they where gay” , he went on to say “I just think certain niggas need to get a job rather than hate or found out if you have AIDS that is more important” . In his defense, prior to the interview, we were on a certain site, and some of the comments were so mean, and hateful, passed the point of being an opinion, just really childish and ethug gangsters. It’s one of those sites, you shouldn’t be reading the comments anyway, just watching the videos.  Look for the “Every Girl” video to be debuting soon. Also, great news for all the Clipse fans out there, their single “Kind of Like a Big Deal” hits in April; Kanye West and Consequence are going to cameo in the video. Pusha T & Game did a record together, at Nottz Studio the other day. Yes, expect that heat rock!
