Atlanta-based artist Dose is set to release his debut mixtape, The OverDose, to follow-up on the success of his bubbling single, “Where They Do That At (remix, feat. Rick Ross & Fabolous).” The OverDose will focus on Dose’s ability to excel in not only making catchy hooks, but displaying a lyrical versatility not seen in the South since T.I.’s prime.

50 Cent Myspace Live Show

DSC_5186

Amidst all the controversy, 50 Cent still remains one of the larger-than-life figures in Hip-Hop. For this reason, I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to see Curtis Jackson perform live. Last night Kasey from Digiwaxx Media invited me to the 50 Cent concert at The Highline Ballroom, presented by Myspace Music and Hot97. Myspace Music has been putting on the concerts under their “The Release” brand which coincides with the release of highly anticipated albums. 50 Cent’s was booked for the 50th installment of this series which also promotes 50’s new album “Before I Self Destruct.”

The crowd in the venue was packed and the energy was crazy mainly because everyone knew a couple of surprises were on the way. Fif came out to a packed crowd with the street smash, “Crime Wave”, receiving the loudest ovation from the Highline crowd. Much to the astonishment of many fans, 50 played hands up and brought out the now infamous Beanie Sigel for the first verse. The two men aimed at making Jay-Z’s life a living hell also performed their incredibly gutter track, “I Go Off.”

All in all, it was a great night had by all and it was good to see 50 rock a crowd in an intimate setting. You really get to feel the music when you’re in places like that as opposed to the 100,000 seat venues. Below is a video of Fif performing his next single, the laid-back (and quite catchy), “Do You Think About Me.”

End of The Night a camera man got way to close.. welp you can see what happens!
