Drake – "Love & Guns"

With the release of Thank Me Later scheduled for the end of March, the music from Toronto’s phenom continues to make its way to the information superhighway. Thankfully, most of the offerings which are leaking are older records. Chances of them making the final cut anyway are slim to none. If you’re a stickler for logistics, this reference track, “Love & Guns,” was recorded almost two years ago. May 2008, to be exact.
The laid back, mid-tempo beat allows for Drake to briefly explain a story of love, hatred and war all under a minute and 20 seconds.
“Damn, another 20 missed calls
I love her and I hate her
It’s a funny twist y’all
Can’t stand her when she in town
But miss her when she gone
Truth be told, I’d rather be with her than alone…”
