Atlanta-based artist Dose is set to release his debut mixtape, The OverDose, to follow-up on the success of his bubbling single, “Where They Do That At (remix, feat. Rick Ross & Fabolous).” The OverDose will focus on Dose’s ability to excel in not only making catchy hooks, but displaying a lyrical versatility not seen in the South since T.I.’s prime.

"Civilized Talk" finds us at a funeral service. A joyous and upbeat one at that. After weeks of push backs, 11th hour recordings and a few back and forth squabbles with DJ Drama on Twitter, their highly anticipated mixtape, There Is No Competition 2.

Malice and Pusha T, collectively known as The Clipse, are by far one of the game's premiere duos. Hailing from the 757 area of Virginia, the brothers have amassed a reputation which has seen them successfully merge drugs and rap, almost effortlessly. Read More

Billboard Breakdown (2/5)

Following “music’s biggest night,” it’s always interesting to see how sales benefit from the exposure.

2.  Hope For Haiti - Various Artists – 139,093

  • I’m not even sure what’s on this CD. If it is truly going to help the people of Haiti, I’m all for it.

4. This Is It – Michael Jackson – 58,909

  • It’s Jacko. Whatever his name is on is going to scan units. It will be interesting to see if there will ever be any more albums featuring unreleased material made available.

11. The Element of Freedom – Alicia Keys – 38,927

  • I’m not sure what the exact reasoning is, but “Unthinkable” should be the single. For some reason, “Distance & Time” seems like it would be a smooth single to catch on.

12. Fearless -  Taylor Swift – 33,607

  • I, somewhat, expected to this number to be higher given her showing at the Grammy’s. No surprise though, her record label is called “Big Machine.”

26. We Are Young Money – Young Money – 19,656

  • Even with the leader gearing up for a prison stint, the group gears up with their third single, “Roger That,” (which will feature Wayne) set to be released soon. 2010 will serve as a very critical year for the label. Next up, Thank Me Later.

37. Blueprint 3 – Jay-Z – 14,538

  • Chances are the promotion for this album is on cruise control. The singles have been released and quite frankly, it received some of the best promotion for a single album in a long time. It’s still being used on SportsCenter. Regardless, it’d be great to see Jay give J. Cole more shine with a visual for “A Star Is Born.”

43. Ready – Trey Songz – 12,644

  • Ready, when it’s all said and done, will be the album which allowed Trey Songz to turn the proverbial corner. The fact he’s still in the top 50 for an album that released in September is impressive. Look for a video for “Neighbors Know My Name” coming soon and his tour with Jay-Z and Young Jeezy to give those numbers a spike.

Next week, Rebirth hits the shelves. How much will it sell? Who will win the contest. Guess we just have to wait. To view the entire top 50, click here.
