Second Time's The Charm?

“Sittin’ here lookin’ at my platinum plaques/ Thinkin’ what the fuck am I without a Dr. Dre track?/ When Doc say ‘it’s a wrap’, it’s a wrap/ It’s still Aftermath and ain’t nothin’ after that…” – Game Doctor’s Advocate” from Doctor’s Advocate

For the most part, I’m a fan of Game. I’ve enjoyed all three albums and his most notorious trait, the name dropping, doesn’t irk me in comparison to others who listen to his music. He’s a talented guy, but with the talent comes its problems. He pops off a lot, and while it is entertaining occasionally, he has been known to apologize almost immediately. Blame it on the liquor and weed, I assume. Recently, he did make one great decision for his career, returning to Aftermath.

Game’s adoration for Dr. Dre has always been evident. According to who you ask, the iconic producer saved Jayceon‘s life by transporting him from the streets to the studio. His first offering, 2005′s The Documentary, has been one of the lone bright spots for a coast who is still fighting to reclaim the dominance they exhibited in the ’90′s. However, the beef between 50 and Game complicated things and apparently forced Dre to cut ties with his West Coast cohort. We all remember the times where Game pleaded for Dre’s forgiveness. Thankfully, time heals all wounds and the two are preparing something crazy for Blood’s new album.

This is good. Seeing as how I believe Detox is an urban legend that will never see the light of day, I’ll take a focused and carefully prepared effort from Jayceon Taylor.
