What is most likely to strike you upon meeting JUSTICE League/Asylum recording artist Laws – other than the fact that he doesn’t look like the average rapper – is a clear confidence and sense of self. Those aren’t necessarily common qualities among his peers. Continue Reading

One thing Eminem’s life has never been is stable. From his tumultuous childhood, to his rise to fame and controversy, to the murder of his best friend and fellow D-12 member Proof, the life of Marshall Mathers has never been one which was easy to decipher. Read More

Rick Ross & Birdman – "Addicted 2 Money" (Video)

Listen. You can say whatever you want about Rick Ross.

“He was a C.O.”

“He don’t really live that shit he be kickin’ in his rhymes.”

“He wack.”

Yeah, yeah, yeah, cut the nonsense. Say whatever you want about this guy, but he has BY FAR one of the sharpest flows in the game. That’s a big part of the reason why Teflon Don will be one of the hottest albums of the year and I haven’t even heard it yet. It’s because unlike many rappers, he seems to be getting better with each album. Crazy huh?

In his latest visual with Birdman, he flexes this flow over a track which was meant for their collab album. Not sure what happened to it, but I’m guessing you charge that to the politics of the industry.

Are you kidding me???? One of the sharpest flows in the game? Stop the madness. He’s getting better with each album? Anyone that listens to music, please spit a bar right now that you remember hearing Rick Ross spit…. Ummmmm…. Waiting….. Exactly!!! You may remember the beat! You probably do remember the hooks! But this guy isn’t spitting nothing that anyone remembers unless you’re from the M-I-Yayo and still….

One may argue that a lot of rappers spit about things they really don’t have. But to be a CO and reppin’ being a drug lord up in Miami? There has to be limits! I just can’t listen to you when you’re that big of a fraud! What’s next? Wale or one of them garbage cats getting quotable of the month? Hot garbage! Rejected…. “We don’t believe you, you need more people”…

LOL. Ok. You’re right. How could I be so stupid?

    Mafia Music 2
    Veteran’s Day
    Angels (remix)

And that’s just from 2010. Tell me he didn’t body each of those tracks and please explain why. Go ahead. I’ll wait this time lol.

He can rhyme whatevva he wants to, that aint his problem. THe problem is: He is not real, he is not rapping about his true life. I cant stand hearing to fake gangsta rappers. If you aint have been a gangster why tha fuck do you rap about it? RIck ROss are surrounded by fakes, take lil wayne for example. He aint a blood but still he got the red flag, and Baby are saying soowoop all the time. But check old vcash money videos, no fucking blood there.
    But anyway…

Ross aint keepin it real so fuck him, he aint even on the sound radar here in Europe. The only rappers you hear in the big radio stations are Eminem, Jay-Z, Kanye West, 50 Cent. Not even lil wayne make a spot over here. Why? He is so fucking fake.

Damn i really hate this fake ass rappers, if u aint gangster dont rap about it! Rap about your real fucking life! Triple C, get the fuck out of here.

LOL… You may get a mention for the “Angels” (remix) and I probably fell asleep on the other two.. LOL.. Listen, some people go off on joints sometimes, good for them. But my point was that you can’t be that big of a fraud and expect me to pay attention.

Now when he first came out and was making noise, do you honestly remember anything else but the beats and the hooks? Doubt it. And one may argue “he got his weight up lyrically”. Ok cool, but funny enough, I haven’t seen you quote anything off any of these three joints. What makes it memorable is what you remember.

Now don’t go listen to the tracks and come back to write something now! Too late… I waited long enough LOL

None of these rap-ass cats are real. Conversely, a lot of C.O.s are moving product in the prison system. When was the last time Jigga moved a package? Probably in the late eighties. He still talking about it though. Ross gets it in.

Like Listener said, very, very few of these rap cats do everything they rap about. For those that do, well, you see C-Murder.

How “real” Ross is isn’t for me to determine. Like was said, C.O.’s can be some of the most shady people in prison systems so to attempt to discredit Ricky’s lyrics because of that isn’t exactly fair. But at the end of the day, I’m not from the hood, never sold dope and never plan to. I’m a fan of the music and Ross makes good music, IMO.

But to each his own, and at the very least, it started a debate.

The biggest flaw that RR has is that he is so monotonous. His flow and voice are unbearable. I can’t listen to Ross at all.

Whateever happened to rapping for music not for show? Think biggie and Pac, back to the basics, they were good, cause they were telling the truth about themselves not making some bullshit up and crossing there fingers for a hit. Rick Ross whatever you do, thats your buisness, but I dont think anyboydy want to hear a fat fuck credit himself or for that sack, anybody credit themself. And @SWEDEN, lil wayne aint wack, the money got to him lol and if your telling me millions of dollars wouldnt get you? then you must be jesus christ himself. Go back through lil waynes career, he built himself up from scratch with his own unique style, if you dont like it change the fucking track stfu nobodys asking you to listen.

THE HIP-HOP INDUSTRY IS DYING AND WE NEED SOMEBODY TO REVITALISE IT, AND QUICK BEFORE GENERATION X IS THE ONLY GENERATION LEFT TO LISTEN TO IT.

Drake is it, but hes got to cut out the drugs and come back to his true rapping talent.

why do i feel so alone
like everybody passing through the studio
is in character as if we acting out a movie role
talking bullshit as if it was for you to know
and i don’t have the heart to give these
bitch ass niggas the cue to go
so they stick around kicking out feedback
and i entertain it as if i need that
i had a talk with my uncle and he agreed that
my privacy about the only thing i need back but
its hard to think of them polite flows
mr. fano poloto suits are your night clothes
and jordan sweat suits are your flight clothes
and you still make it even when they say your flight closed
eyes hurting from the camera phone light shows
    life was so full
now this shit just being lipo’d
always said i’d say it all on the right track
but in this game you only lose when you fight back
    black diamond bracelets
    showing you the basics
i can’t live and hold the camara
    someone gotta tape this
i make hits unlike a bitch
    that’s married i ain’t miss
    24 hours from greatness
    i’m that close
    don’t ever forget the moment
    you began to doubt
transitioning from fitting in to standing out
los angeles, cabanas or atlanta south
    watchin whole show
embarrassed to pull my camera out
    and my mother embarrassed
    to pull my phantom out
so i park about 5 houses down
she say i shouldn’t have it until i have the crown
but i don’t wanna feel the need to wear disguises around
so she wonder where my mind is accounts in the minus
but yet i’m rolling round the fuckin city like your highness
got niggas reactin without a sinus
cause what i’m working with is timeless
and promoters try to get me out to they club
they say i have fun but i can’t imagine how
cause i just seen my ex-girl
    standing with my next girl
standing with the girl that i’m fuckin right now
and shit could get weird unless they all down
    and so i stay clear
    we from a small town
    everybody talks and everybody listen
but somehow the truth just always comes up missing
i’ve always been something that these labels can’t buy
especially if they tryin to take a peice of my soul
and sylvia be tellin tez “damn drake fly”
and he just be like “silly mother fucker i know”
    that was your bad
how could you pass up on em?
    he just take them records
and he gas up on em
wayne will prolly put a million cash up on em
surprised no one ever put your ass up on em
    oh they did po
    at least they tried to
    and thats what happens
when you spitting whats inside you
but slip up and shoot the wrong fucking video
and they think they can market you
    however they decide to nahh
but forty told me to do me
and don’t listen to anybody that knew me
cause to have known me would
mean that theres a new me
and if you think i changed in the slightest
    could of fooled me
boy in my city i’m da 2-3
drug dealers live vicariously through me
i quit school and it’s not because i’m lazy
i’m just not the social type
and campus life is crazy understand
i could get money with my eyes closed
lost some of my hottest verses down in cabo
so if you find a blackberry with the side scroll
sell that mothafucka to any rapper that i know
cause they need it much more than i ever will
    i got new shit
    i’m gettin better still
little niggas put my name in they verses
cause they girlfriend put my ass on a pedesteel
future said cause this ye shit you better kill
and i think this got this “making of a legend” feel
problem with these other niggas they
    ain’t never real
yea … thats all i can say
