Billboard Breakdown (2/17)

sade

Was there any doubt who was going to land at #1?

1. Sade – Soldier Of Love – 481, 204

  • Beyond smooth, that’s about the best way I can describe this album. Who knows where she decides to go with the next single. Personally, “In Another Time” has been getting constant spins. It’s pretty hard to go wrong on this album.

3. Jahiem – Another Round – 115,020

  • I knew he had the single with Jadakiss, but I never expected him to put up these numbers. Considering the times and the lack of publicity this album received, this is damn good.

4. Lil Wayne – Rebirth – 83,034

  • Seeing as how he’s got at least two more videos coming from this album, expect this album to remain somewhere on the charts for the next few months.

17. Justin Bieber – My World – 35,970

  • Seeing as how this kid is a constant Trending Topic on Twitter, he could be receiving a platinum plaque some point this year. Scooter Braun has a goldmine with Canada’s youngest superstar.

22. Michael Jackson – This Is It – 26,458

  • Yep, Jacko’s still here. I’m still convinced we’ll see an album in the future with unreleased material. Wait till you see those numbers.

26. Kidz Bop Kids – Kidz Bop 17 – 23,980

  • I know they’re for kids and all, but I’m still surprised these compilations sell the way they do. If you have 17 installments of anything, I guess you’re doing something right.

38. John Mayer – Battle Studies – 19,584

  • Expected these numbers to be a tad higher. You know, considering the controversy and all.

44. Jay-Z – Blueprint 3 – 17,885

  • Just to give J. Cole some more buzz, why not shoot a video for “A Star Is Born?”

SADE is still a BEAST!!! You see these numbers? Not a lot of artists are doing these numbers w/o “buying” copies themselves nowadays! But she’s a lengend and a true icon can still come out and post these types of numbers. Let’s show much RESPECT to her! And she still looks damn good! DAMN!!!!
