What is most likely to strike you upon meeting JUSTICE League/Asylum recording artist Laws – other than the fact that he doesn’t look like the average rapper – is a clear confidence and sense of self. Those aren’t necessarily common qualities among his peers. Continue Reading

T-Pain Brings Young Money To Cartoon Network

t-pain-mack-maine-lil-wayne

If any word describes T-Pain to the tee, “animated” might be the one. That in mind, it only makes sense that Cartoon Network approached Teddy P about his own animated show. This Sunday, two years of prepartion comes to a head when Pain’s special, “Freaknik: The Musical.” ‘Freaknik’ was the name of infamous Atlanta spring break pilgrimage in Atlanta which was last thrown in 1999.

“I wasn’t old enough [to attend], by the time it got shut down,” Pain told The BoomBox, in an exclusive interview. “It’s just something that needed to be made into a cartoon, because I don’t think it’s ever coming back in real life.”

Makes sense. And like Pain, I was too young as well. I always heard the stories though. It was appropriately titled from all accounts. Riding shotgun with Pain on his rookie endeavor into the animated world will be Young Money members, Mack Maine and Lil Wayne, both of whom will be providing voice overs. The show focuses around a group of characters who attempt to resurrect the infamous event.

This is Pain’s first show, but not his first voyage into the cartoon world. In the past, he has played the character of “Frylock” on the hit TV show “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.”

Side note: Here’s another of the many visuals Wayne completed pre-Rikers, Yo Gotti’s “Women Lie, Men Lie.”
