Nas Goes To Africa
Everybody has problems. Marital problems. Financial problems. Health problems. Business problems. And with those problems, it is easy to forget the plights of others. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but hearing others’ stories always help put life in perspective.
Imagine living in a country that was at civil war for nearly 15 years and 250,000 of your neighbors would go on to lose their lives. Imagine losing a limb, let’s say a leg. You live through all that to only have your fellow countrymen and women ridicule you for your handicap. Sleep in dirt. Go days without eating and even contemplate death as a better option than living. That’s real life for Richard and Jospeh from Liberia.
Narrated by Nas, the story of Liberia’s amputee soccer team and how they united a country is explained in full on Tuesday, May 4, on ESPN‘s “E:60.” The network has been producing nothing but quality documentaries for the past year, so expect this to be no different.
