Lil Kim Addresses Nicki Minaj And "Respect"

Respect is a big thing, especially in Hip-Hop. Which is crazy considering this a genre that throws around more “f*ck you’s” than one can possibly count. It seems as if ever since Nicki Minaj became an artist worth documenting people have been expecting her to humble herself. This is probably the exact reason she has garnered such a dedicated following (as well as those who are not fans). On more than one occasion, Minaj has found herself compared to another female MC who created a firestorm of controversy and anticipation – Lil’ Kim.

Apparently the former first lady of Junior Mafia addressed Nicki during a recent show in Buffalo. Ray J even decided to play instigator too.

Ray J: “It’s a lot of people biting her style and shit…I ain’t saying no names, but you know who…”

Lil’ Kim: “We love her! We just want them to pay homage, so we could all rock together. It’s all about respect. You respect me, I respect you. If you don’t respect me then fuck you.”

The Head-Barbie-In-Charge also took time to address the topic of downing others as a means to elevate oneself.
