The Travels Of Bun B
Two things I appreciate in Hip-Hop: great video editing and any new music from Bun B. The two come together for this short clip of “the trillest man alive” at various stops (one at I believe the Tupac Shakur birthday celebration last week) in honor of Lafayette’s 7th year anniversary. What makes it even better is that Pimp C’s partner in rhyme borrowed the timeless “ATLiens” instrumental to drop some bars off. You can find this tape on Lafayette and DJ Clark Kent’s mixtape which also boasts appearances Vado, Q-Tip and more. Definitely a must grab.
Speaking of Bun, look for the new album Trill O.G. to hit stores August 3. I’ll always support anything dude drops mainly because his love for the craft is evident in everything he does. From his ability to remain relevant and his willingness to help younger acts, I notice and respect it all. That type of stuff just shouldn’t go unnoticed. Plus when you have a track featuring Tupac AND Pimp C, that deserves $10 off break.
Also, if anyone who visits this site attends Rice University, make sure you take Bun’s Hip-Hop and Religion class during the Spring 2011 semester.
Bun B spoke on looking forward to office hours, keeping track of attendance, and of course the matter of students taking the class solely to slip their demos into his hands.
“If they’re coming into the course specifically to give me a demo…that’s a wrap on the first day,” he said. Although he expressed that he was wary about that potential issue, he did share one idea that could act as an incentive for students who wish to take the class. Â
“My plan was to put a [demo] box on the desk, and the box is going to stay there and everybody stays there until the course is over. Nobody gets to listen to [any demos] until the course is over.”
Respect to Decatur Dan for the footage.
