Mack Maine – Alchemist Freestyle

As the President of Young Money, Mack Maine has the responsibility of leading one of  the hottest labels in the game. But the business side of his career hasn’t taken anything away from his skill as an artist… and he wants to make sure you remember that. Check out this freestyle over  Vado, Cam’ron & Kid Cudi’s “Ya Killin Me” beat.

Range feat. Rick Ross – "Ghetto Dance" Video

Range links up with Ricky Rozay to shoot the visual for “Ghetto Dance.” With the “Flex,” the “Dougie” and now this, it’s way too much for me to keep up with. A simple two step will suffice for me. The Roc Nation R&B singer/songwriter, who has written for artists such as Jamie Foxx and T-Pain, is currently in the works of promoting his new mixtape with DJ Drama.

After taking a look at the video, you’ll have a chance to win $1,000. How, you ask? By entering yourself in the “Ghetto Dance” contest.

Freddie Gibbs – "Str8 Killa No Filla" (Mixtape)

A day late, sure, but let’s get one thing clear: Freddie Gibbs is that dude.

Let’s get another thing clear: this tape is free. Twenty-one tracks of that raw, unfiltered gangster sh*t that only Freddie can bring.

Let’s get one last thing clear: The official Str8 Killa No Filla EP drops next Tuesday (August 3) and if you’ve ever downloaded one of his tapes and enjoyed them, spending $8 on the official release shouldn’t even require much thought. (Keep reading…)

Recap: Fat Joe The Darkside, Vol. 1 Album Release Party at SOBs

Recap: Fat Joe The Darkside, Vol. 1 Album Release Party at SOBs

Last night, Fat Joe performed live at SOB’s for what was ostensibly a celebration of the release of his new album, The Darkside, Vol. 1. What really took place, however, was a tribute to a hip-hop veteran 18 years in the game and 10 albums deep.

When Don Cartagena first stepped on stage, wearing a simple black tee and matching fitted cap, it was a regal and powerful entrance, captivating the audience as “Heavenly Father,” his most recent collaboration with Lil Wayne, played over the speakers. But rather than launch right into material off The Darkside, Joe took us back to his Relativity days with undisputed classics like “Success” and “The Sh*t is Real Remix.” He then gave a humorous yet sincere shout out to Rob “Teef” Tewlow, declaring, “I love you, man. You made me rich.”

Joe then looked out into the crowd and asked, “Y’all want ‘Lean Back’?” Before the crowd could respond, he bellowed, “Then get the f*ck out!”

Usher feat. Jay-Z & Ester Dean – "Hot Toddy" (Explicit)

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

On August 24, Usher releases the follow up to his successful Raymond vs. Raymond, the Versus EP. The Jay-Z featured track has been talked about for minute now though. Earlier today, the radio rip of the Polow Da Don produced track made its rounds on the Internet. Here’s the explicit version. Jay continues his run of impressive guest verses with another one here (and another Illuminati mention for those who care about that stuff) and Ester Dean plays substitute until the final version with Ciara is released.

For those wondering what hot toddy is,it’s a drink (cider) that is severed hot and mixed with alcohol. Depending on who you ask, many believe it helps cure the cold and/or flu.
