I’m not sure how the Mary J. Blige/Howard University ultimately culminated, but that doesn’t mean the R&B icon isn’t promoting it the meantime.  Mary J. and her foundation Foundation For the Advancement of Women Now (FFAWN) have teamed up with NASA to promote the importance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) to young women.

FFAWN will work together with NASA’s Summer Of Innovation project; part of the President’s Educate to Innovate Campaign which started this year to keep middle school students engaged in stimulating STEM-related activities during their school breaks.

“The partnership plans to train FFAWN high school participants to teach science to younger middle school students this summer at the New York City Housing Authority Van Dyke Community Center and the Harlem Children’s Zone Promise Academy. The NASA Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Aerospace Academy project at York College of the City University of New York is also working on the project,” reports Space.com.
