J. Cole – Any Given Sunday EP

Sunday’s are meant for relaxation (even God kicked his feet up on the seventh day according to the Bible). Yet, for Jermaine Cole, he’s using everyone’s down day to ensure all eyes are on him. In his own words, “Every Sunday til the album drops I’ll be back with something. Maybe just 1 song, maybe a video, depending on how I’m feeling.” In this Sunday’s case, the pride and joy of Fayetteville, North Carolina, released an EP of sorts with new music and some that may have went under the radar upon its release.

I’ll hand the floor over to him.

1. Like A Star- Was saving this for the 2nd album. Due to some other shit beyond my control, I’ma let this out now.

2. Knock On Wood- One of my fav. freestyles. OG Dreamvillains gotta be reminded, new fans gotta get put on.

3. Pity- Brand new J. Cole, Omen, Voli. Produced by Voli @volitheentity

4. How High- at one point this was guaranteed to go on The Sideline Story.

5. Unabomber- Just heard this today for the first time in a longgg time. Love these raps.

So, there you have it. There’s not much to be said other than letting your mouse do the talking. Off first listen, “Like A Star” ain’t bad.

Drake – “Headlines”

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

The wait is over. Here is the first single off of Drake‘s upcoming “Take Care” album. I can already see this climbing the charts at a rapid rate as well as getting heavy radio play. If this is what we are in store for on that “Take Care” album, looks like Drake will have another classic one on his hands. The album is said to be released October 24th.

Video: Meek Mill & Rick Ross Talk “I’ma Boss (Remix)”

While in Philly for the shooting of the “I’ma Boss” video, Meek Mill and Rozay stopped through to talk with Cosmic Kev. During the conversation, Rick Ross clears up any speculations people had about him being the creator of the “I’ma Boss” record. More importantly, they discuss the remix to this monster record that’s been terrorizing the streets. Both Meek & Rozay hint that the remix could possibly feature Jay-Z, Diddy, Birdman and Swizz Beatz. If this line-up is indeed true, we need to get that track immediately!

Coming Soon: DMX’s New Reality TV Show

X is a free man, hopefully for good this time. Those who still believe he can make some sort of impact again on the music may be happy to hear this. Earl is back in the studio. The TV studio, that is. While no real timetable has yet to be set, his very own reality show is apparently in the works. About what exactly, I’m not really able to say at this point, but I’d guess it would center around his recovery and conviction to never slip up again.

Anyway, let X’s long-time friend and publicist Pam Pinnock attempt to tell the story.

“The fact that there is indeed a reality show in the works,” Pam Pinnock clarified to AllHipHop.com. “[DMX has made a] decision to take a step back and reevaluate who’s phony and who’s fake in the DMX compound. In the coming weeks  DMX will make an official announcement as to who stays and who goes as he makes his rounds in the hip hop community and we can all watch as the king of hip hop reclaims his crown.”

Reclaim his crown? Ehh, that may be pushing things (scratch that, it is), but here’s to DMX getting back on the good foot. And if this show is the first step, then by all means move ahead. All I’d really hope from him at this point is to release two undeniably hot songs in a row. We all know he’s got enough material.

Gucci Mane & Waka Flocka feat. YG Hootie – “15th & The 1st”

Riot music. That’s exactly what this is.

The type of music Queen Latifah was listening to in the last scene of Set It Off. Or when Tony Montana sniffed all that coke and let off every piece of ammo he had. Or whenever Stone Cold Steve Austin was whooping ass in the late 90′s. Or whenever Tommy Pickles had to lead his crew into the dangers of the backyard. Whatever crazy/heroic act you can think of, the protagonist was likely listening to this song to get them animated.

There aren’t really true expectations I have for Gucci and Waka’s Ferrari Boyz album out side of the finest ignorance money can buy and completely disrespectful instrumentals. Cross both of those requirements off the list for “15th & The First.” They’re both there.

Jim Jones and Camron link up with Teyana Taylor for a new track off of DJ Haze’s “Blood Is Thicker Than Water XIV” mixtape. Hopefully Jim Jones and Camron can get up with the rest of the Dipset gang together and put out that album we’ve been waiting for.
