Bridget Kelly Clears Up Frank Ocean “Thinking About You” Confusion

Bridget Kelly is talented. Now whether you know this or not is irrelevant, but just know she is. She’s been under the tutelage of Jay-Z and Roc Nation for a minute now and is slowly gaining traction thanks doubly in part to her Every Girl EP and the strength of the record “Thinking About You.”

And, see, that’s where things get tricky.

For one, the song itself is one of the better written R&B records in quite some time. But even to this very moment some are confused about whose record “Thinking About You” actually is. Kelly sat down with Mina SayWhat of SiriusXM’s The Heat to clear the air. Basically, Frank wrote the record for Bridget and took the liberty to release his vocals on the fly. By the time Bridget’s version was released, it appeared as if she was basically “covering” the track, when in fact the song was crafted for her.  The crazy thing is, the song probably do serious radio damage if ever taken that far, regardless of whoever decided to make it their “official single.” It’s really that good.
