Earlier this week, reviews poured in about Frank Ocean‘s debut album ‘Channel Orange‘. With a vast majority of them comparing this album to the higher ups of Prince and Michael Jackson, one in particular outline a more deeper thought process – posing the thought of bisexuality in 3 of his songs. With blogs taking head to the review, many posts came in and with that, much judgement. Frank took to his Tumblr last night to post a letter that was written last year, which you can view after the jump.

A private letter about his first same-sex relationship, now made public. One that opens your eyes and ears to something that wasn’t close to expected, read the letter below, by clicking the link to his tumblr.

Frank Ocean – Open Letter

With this letter out, we bring back the questions: Do you think this may hurt and affect his career? Or will many of his fans still be able to accept this and appreciate his God given talent? Will this open the world to the many acclamations of same-sex relationships and activities within the music industry alone? So many questions come from this particular situation, but what we can say is that we stand by Frank Ocean and his amazing craft and hope that many of you acknowledge his bravery set fourth.

It’s nice to think that people are mature enough to not view him or his music differently because of this. But I’m sure we all know the world we live in is not as open minded as we claim to be. So yes, there will be some people who will bash him or stop listening to his music and that’s beyond unfortunate. Me personally, I don’t care which side of the fence an artist’s sexuality resides on. I’m all about the music.
