With Jamie Foxx taking a break from music to delve back into the film scene, it was just announced that he’s added another notable movie series to his resume, starring as the villain Electro in the upcoming sequel The Amazing Spiderman 2. For more details hit the jump.News broke last week that actor turned singer will be heading back to the silver screen in Sony’s sequel to The Amazing Spiderman, which came out this past summer. Electro is a classic villain from the Marvel Comic staple, also goes by his alias of Maxwell “Max” Dillion who has the ability to control electricity after being struck by lightning.
This will be his first appearance in a Spiderman film since Electro made his first appearance in “The Amazing Spiderman #9″ comic released in February 1964. But the most important highlight would be that its a deviation from the original, where Electro is actually Caucasian.
Huge step for Jamie, in addition to his movie Django Unchained starring him and Scandal beauty, Kerry Washington due out on Christmas Day. Nice to see Black Hollywood to get back on the map. Congrats Mr. Foxx!
