Before Wyclef damn near full-fledged commando in is driveway, halfway greased up, on a bike (oh, I haven’t forgotten mainly because the image is burned into my memory now), ‘Clef biggest news centered around Lauryn Hill. Wyclef alleged he and Lauryn had an affair way back when. Furthermore, he claims L-Boogie even tricked him into believing her first child was his. Yep, some rather hellacious claims, but until now only one side of the story had been told.
Lauryn’s been on tour with Nas recently. While in Dallas, the woman who gave the world Miseducation addressed the claims. Somewhat. In sort of a roundabout way, Hill makes some rather vaugge statements, but ones which could be directed at her former bandmate.
At this point, it is what it is. Lauryn – as much as I love her, and please believe I do love her – is bat shit crazy. Wyclef, well, there’s no words for Wyclef these days. So that’s that. It is a damn shame knowing how much greater each of their careers could have been had a few things went differently however.
