KarenCivil.Com Raps It Up With Chase N Cashe On “Charm”

KarenCivil.Com got the chance to chop it up with West Coast rapper Chase N Cashe last night, and it was nothing less than complete chaos. The entire evening filled with poured up drinks, some of the dopest editors, and music blasting wall to wall from Cashe’s latest releases “CHARM” was such a refreshing surprise from the rather upscale, snobby & cliche listening party. Read the interview after the jump….

Casually arriving around 7:30-ish to Studio 21 located on the west side in manhattan, security helped us upstairs to where Chase N Cashe’s new album release was taking place. Chase N Cashe who is heavily noted as one of XXL Magazine’s breakout rap artists of the year, half of the production collaboration between producer “Hit Boy”, and noted to tour cross country on Drake’s “Club Paradise Tour” is one heck of a triple threat. The await to meet him was a build of suspense, as everyone wanted to see what he was all about in person.

The “Charm” listening session, provided by the “Intermix” group, brought along sponsors Power 105.1, Heavy Water Vodka, website You Heard That New and more.. Hosted by Low Key of You Heard That New, we began to turn up around 9:30PM where DJ First Choice rang off banger after banger until the introduction of Cashe.  A midst the likes of editors from This Is 50.com, Kazeem at Hip Hop Wired and hit producer “Tha Bizness” Chase N Cashe finally appears storming through the crowd wearing a grunge orange beanie that spelled out “Pu$$y” and a clique following right behind equally as fly. Heading right over in my direction, I was formally introduced to Cashe and waited ten minutes for a really dope audio interview. Very humbly, Chase N Cashe, myself and a camera crew headed to the outside stairwell (away from the throbbing bass of “Pop That” playing in the background) where we would chop up a few questions.

KarenCivil.Com: “What can we expect from you album”?

Chase N Cashe: “There’s alotta stuff on my album, you know. Alotta rap stuff, alotta sampling, alotta soul shit. I bring some of the roots back to music. I feel  like the roots of music are based on a lot of sampling and great musicianship. And you know know I love everything trap music, but I feel like right now there is a need for diversity. Im on some new shit!”.

KarenCivil.Com: “How was your experience with Drake on the Club Pardise Tour”?

Chase N Cashe: ” Crazy man! One thing I can say is I love all my ni**. Shout out to Drake for every opportunity he has given me, shout out to Kendrick and everything I learned from him…Rocky for giving me a verse on the album. Other than that, it’s a great thing to tour with the people you started with. We all started around the same time, and I’m the last Mohegan of the tribe so you know I gotta take it all the way to the top. Other than that everything has been great. J.Cole, French, 2 Chainz…eveyone. To see us together is some beautified shit!”

KarenCivil.Com: “What is the craziest moment you had on tour”?

Chase N Cashe: “To keep it real with you, the craziest shit was in Arizona. And it wasn’t even me it  was my homies. They had like 15 shorties in they room, and  getting it in with like three of them and the rest of them sprawled out everywhere drunk. We was supposed to leave the next morning and noone was up, So I checked into their rooms since my name was on the account, and saw EVERYONE laid out, drunk….with shorties everywhere.. Crazy! Im still early in mine, hopefully I’ll get there!

KarenCivil.com: “Who would be your dream industry chick”?

Chase N Cashe: “Sanaa Lathan. Hahah. Im going BIG, I don’t want no music chick.”

Being bum rushed by a crowed of people trying to get to Cashe, we cut the interview short and headed out. None the less…”Charm” is one hell of mix, featuring beats and tracks all laced by Cashe himself & featuring producers like “Tha Bizness” Mike Christian, Jahlil Beats and Araab Muzik..with features by A$AP Rocky and more… Is this Cali Resident, New Orleans native next up?
