Remember when beef was only on songs? With the continued development of social media, especially the dominant network Twitter, beef occurs very often online for everyone to view as it happens right from their home. Twitter beef isn’t only around music but has also taken it’s way to reality TV. From 50 Cent to Chief Keef, let’s take a look at who is involved in our Top 10 Twitter beefs of 2012.

Lupe Fiasco vs. Chief Keef
One of the hottest stories in Hip-Hop this past year was the emergence of Chicago’s Chief Keef. Lupe Fiasco, who is also of Chicago but from what seems to be two different spectrums of the city, spoke against some of the actions of the young star in regards to the killing of another Chicago artist, Lil JoJo. The response of Lupe was not welcomed by Keef, who then took to twitter to let it be known how he felt.

 

Chris Brown vs. Jenny Johnson
In one of the most recent battles, Chris Brown argued with comedian Jenny Johnson after he posted a picture of himself in which he spoke in reference to his appearance. The picture brought forth a response from Johnson that eventually set of this set of words that included the Rihanna situation and a few other derogatory statements.

 

50 Cent vs. French Montana
In what can be viewed as one of the funniest Twitter beefs of the year we have the battle of 50 Cent and French Montana. The battle between both of these New York rappers went back and forth with the insults as French Montana questioned the work of 50 Cent as an artist due to his recent album sales and continue to mock him and provide insults, whereas 50 attacked him on being the new Ja Rule.

 

 

Jim Jones vs. Azealia Banks
In one of the longest Twitter feuds this year Jim Jones and Azealia Banks argued on who originated “Vamp”. The beef which seems to be ignited by a fan led to a long strand of back to back tweets that included how “Vamp” was created and included a few insults as well.

 

 

Rasheeda vs. K.Michelle
Was there a show hotter on Twitter than Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta? It climbed its way to the top of Trending Topics every Monday and even had issues of the shows participants spill over to the social network itself. After the episode in which K.Michelle claims she was abused by Memphitz, she and Rasheeda had a few subliminal shots sent back and forth at each other.

 

 

Chris Brown vs. Brian McKnight
This year there was a beef between old school and new school in what could have been one of the most unpredictable battles to happen. Chris Brown and Brian McKnight were more hilarious than “We need to meet in the streets”. In the tweets Brian McKnight was looking for the recipe to regain his career’s prominence and Chris Brown was used as a shot, in which he fired back.

 

 

Gucci Mane vs. Everybody
Around the release of Gucci Mane’s Trap God, he held no words back sending out lashings of old beefs and current issues in every direction. The two that gained the most attention was directed at longtime rival and Atlanta native Young Jeezy. Throughout the tweets launched at Jeezy there were also a few shots taken at T.I. and eventually Yung Joc. Although Young Jeezy never engaged in a full on battle with Gucci Mane online, he had a few pieces to speak in an interview and the tweets of Gucci already made a widespread impact online.

 

 

Gucci Mane vs. Keyshia Cole
In the middle of the Twitter tirade by Gucci Mane, there was a mention toward Keyshia Cole, in which the R&B Diva didn’t hesitate on sharing her opinion about her being mentioned by the East Atlanta rapper.

 

 

Chris Brown vs. Drake & Meek Mill
One of the biggest stories in Hip-Hop was the bottle throwing brawl that occurred in a New York night club. The participants of that brawl Chris Brown and Drake and as well as rumored appearance by Meek Mill also kept the rumors buzzing around it possibly being about Rihanna once it took came to Twitter.

 

Lil Reese vs. Chris Palmer
In one of the most uncommon Twitter beefs of the year, we saw Chief Keef affiliate Lil’ Reese and ESPN analyst Chris Palmer shared words after a video of Lil’ Reese surfaced. In a video in which Lil’ Reese claimed to be old, he physically abused a woman and it went viral on Twitter. Palmer who viewed the video provided his opinion and the Twitter Beef Begun.

 

Throughout the year Twitter has became one of the premier areas to find beef, it provided various battles for 2012, we’re sure you can anticipate some in 2013.
