News: New Inquest Proves Alcohol Poisoning as Cause of Death for Amy Winehouse

New reports have surfaced regarding the death of British Soul Songstress, Amy Winehouse.

According to the Associated Press, a new inquest was conducted after the first one had to be annulled because the coroner who conducted the autopsy was proven unqualified. In the new investigation, it was concluded that Amy did in fact die from ‘Alcohol Toxicity‘. For more details, click the jump. A new coroner Shirley Radcliffe, has ruled Winehouse’s death as “a verdict of death by misadventure with no suspicious circumstances.”

Rolling Stone reports:

“A postmortem indicated Winehouse had a blood alcohol level of 0.4, and a pathologist told the inquest the singer likely suffered respiratory arrest from the high levels of alcohol.”

It was reported that another doctor said that Winehouse was seeking recovery, by successfully giving up drugs, but would experience periods of abstinence and binging with alcohol. She had quit drinking for almost two weeks prior to her death, succumbing to her addiction just days before her tragic death.

Still so sad to hear about one our generation’s greats gone too soon. Rest in Paradise to Ms. Amy Jade Winehouse (1983-2011)
