One of the world’s highest selling artist ever, Mariah Carey dropped this week with the snippet of a new record called  “Almost Home”. Though this is a song from the new American Idol host, it serves as one of the cuts from the soundtrack to the new movie “Oz: The Great And Powerful”. When Mariah isn’t deeply tucked away in a camera lens at Fox, she still has time to hit the studio and knock out sample like this. The new track featured in the movie “Oz: The Great And Powerful” is scheduled to premiere in full on radio February 19th. The movie serves as prequel story to the original movie “Wizard Of Oz”  and the track “Almost Home” was written by Mariah, Simone Porter, Justin Gray, Lindsey Ray, Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel Erikesen. The film is scheduled to hit theaters March 8th, and Mariah had this to say about the track:

“Almost Home’ has a message that works beautifully with the film,” said Mariah. “It’s a feel-good record, evoking the feeling of reaching your home and being with people that you love”.
