Lil Wayne’s last scheduled tour stop at the Desoto Civic Center. Will be his last show in 2010 before he turns himself in next month. The show opened with a performance by Roy Farria putting the crowd on “E”. Other headliners hitting the stage were Sean Garrett, Jay Electronica, The entire Young Money Camp & Birdman.

New year, same grind for Pusha T and Malice. Recently The Clipse had a performance at a location every red-blooded American male likely wants to visit before they die, the Playboy Mansion. When not focused on the eye candy surrounding them, the brothers Thorton brought in New Years performing cuts much to the appreciation to the coolest man in the world, Mr. Hugh Hefner.

Also, since I have your attention, ponder on this. This week, Pusha and Malice will be shooting a video for “Freedom” this week in there hometown of VA and the very next week “Champion” will get the same treatment with fellow Virginia natives Allen Iverson and Michael Vick making cameos. As usual, I found myself at another concert in New York City.  This time it centered around one of the more polarizing and controversial figures of the year, Chris Brown. The Chris Brown Appreciation Tour had its stop at the Nokio Theatre in Times Square and here’s a run down of how the whole event played out.

Before anyone even appeared on stage to perform, NYC mainstay DJ Enuff had the crowd rocking for quite some time with a playlist that included all of your favorite hits and even some you may not have heard in awhile. The first act on stage were the New Boyz. Whether it be from a lack of songs to perform or sheer unfamiliarity New York has with their music, the crowd was initially reluctant to gravitate towards them. They spoke through Young Money’s “Bed Rock” and LL Cool J’s “I Need Love.” However, they went for their bread and butter when they performed “Jerk” much to the crowd’s enthusiasm.

Live from NOKIA Theatre Times Square, my favorite Haitian/Activist Wyclef, gets Maino & DJ Drama to perform “Go Outside”

Two of my favorite rappers hit the stage together for a killer performance.  Yo Gotti is performing classic “That’s What’s up” after Plies brings him out.

The guys hit up the show last night to perform “Written On Her“.. Pricele$$ album in stores November 23rd. Check back soon for a special Civilized talk with the one and only Baby..
