Atlanta-based artist Dose is set to release his debut mixtape, The OverDose, to follow-up on the success of his bubbling single, “Where They Do That At (remix, feat. Rick Ross & Fabolous).” The OverDose will focus on Dose’s ability to excel in not only making catchy hooks, but displaying a lyrical versatility not seen in the South since T.I.’s prime.

Chase N. Cashe feat. Kent Money – "Do That (Chase Money)"

Chase N. Cashe is still enjoying fruits of having a hit record in circulation ( Em and Weezy’s –  ”Drop The World”). That doesn’t mean his own music is taking a seat on the back burn. Here is the newest release “Do That” (Ca$he Money)  Ft Kent Money produced by Boi-1da. Artwork by my favorite Canadian brethren Karla Moy aka HustleGrl.

T.I. – “I’m Back”

“Standin’ tall through the storm/On the yard or in the dorm/It’s cats in prison who expectin’ me to represent for ‘em…”

With one superstar going in, another announces his return. I’ve been waiting to hear new music from Tip for awhile now, so any new music from dude is always going to be appreciated. I always wonder what he’d speak about upon his release. A straight and narrow path or the wild, reckless Tip we’ve seen in the past? At least for one song, I got my answer. Clifford, with months of prison time on his conscience, let it be known who’s throne it was on his new record, “I’m Back.”

Like my dude Maurice Garland said, if anything on the song was a “let down,” it was the beat. I expected the beat to be on some next world, out of this planet type music. It’s a hard beat, don’t get it twisted, but “You Don’t Know Me” it is not. Regardless, T.I. rips it to shreds and even has a few choiced words for a fellow ATLien who has apparently found themselves in the doghouse. It’s not Luda. It’s not Shawty Lo. It’s not Gucci. And it’s obviously not Jeezy. So your guess is good as mine on that note.

Enough talking though. You listen and make your own decision.

Tyga feat. Lil Wayne – "I'm On It"

lil-wayne-and-tyga

Here’s the thing. With March 2 drawing closer and closer, expect to see more and more tracks like this. Realistically, Weezy probably has enough music stored away to drop a new track every day he’s locked up without probably ever touching what’s meant for Tha Carter IV. This featured track, “I’m On It,” finds Weezy playing swingman on this new horn-filled Tyga track.

Look for this to appear on Tyga’s new album, Careless World, which should be released later this year. The tatted, West Coast YM implant has been constantly improving since introduction a few years back, so this outing should be impressive. Download it, enjoy it, add it to your Young Money archives.

Killer Mike feat. Ludacris & Game – "Still My N*gga"

killer-mike

A few years back, more like five or six, a good friend told me Killer Mike was the down south version of Nas. Back then, I knew who Mike was, but had never really invested in his music. Thankfully, I smartened up. While I’m not sure if I can compare anyone to Nas, Mike is one of the most potent lyricists in the game today. His music has purpose and he is never afraid to speak his mind, both on and off the mic. He just has that raw intensity in his music which let’s you know every time he breaths on the mic, it’d be best to pay attention. Bottom line, the guy is still underrated to this day, but never under-appreciated in my circle of MC’s.

On “Still My Nigga,” Mike grabs fellow ATLien and feature guest-extraordinaire, Ludacris, and West Coast wingman, Game. According to the homie Mo’ G: (Keep reading…)

Rick Ross – The Timeless Audemars Piguet Collection

It’s been a good day for Rick Ross. First, 50 Cent was sued for his “directorial debut” of Ricky’s baby mama’s sextape. I’m sure he smoked to that. Secondly, he, along with Cartel connects, dropped The Timeless Audemars Piguet Collection. (Keep reading…)

T.I. Makes A Public Appearance

ti-appearance

It is a beautiful thing when celebrities give back and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle demonstrates this with poise. On Monday February 22, Tiny held a fundrasier for Alzheimer’s disease, a illness which plagues her elderly father. During the event which was held at The Atlanta Opera, Tiny’s fiance rapper Clifford “T.I.” Harris came out and showed support for his love with his first public apperance. During the gathering the recently released convict seemed to be in good spirits and was quoted as saying ” I am very well, very happy to be seen.”

In other T.I. news, his manager Jason Geter recently told MTV that  his next album is anticipated to be released by the end of the summer. Some producers to be featured are  DJ Toomp, Danja and The Runners as well as features from The-Dream and Trey Songz already locked in.

Ester Dean feat. Diddy, Lil Wayne, Trey Songz & Chris Brown – "Drop It Low (remix)"

ester_dean

How do you give a song new legs? You remix it, that’s how. Ester Dean’s career has taken a nice boost in noterity since her single, “Drop It Low,” with Chris Brown was featured on the LeBron James documentary, “More Than A Game.” It’s a nice uptempo club track which has seen its fair level of success both publically and on the charts.

Pieces of this official remix have come put together like Legos. First Weezy’s verse dropped. Then a big remix with Weezy, Ester, Trey Songz and Chris dropped a few agos. Now, finally, we have to “official” remix to the record featuring none other than Bad Boy billionaire (he’s close enough), Diddy. Well, Weezy bats off first with a catchy verse and Trey basks in the glory of his success (“Five top 10’s, you can say I’m on a roll…”). Chris follows Trey with a nice offering of his own.

But it’s Diddy who’s been riding off his last verse off Waka’s “O Let’s Do It.” I guess he didn’t want to jeopardize it because he falls back to the roll of hype man on this track. One thing we did learn, however, Diddy “likes a girl with meat on their bones.”

SHOUTS TO POLOW!
