On Saturday, October 22nd, KarenCivil.com held its first official CMJ show with Kendrick Lamar and friends at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City. An amazing night with a lot of surprises in store, KC.com was in house hosting with the The Breakfast Club’s Angele Yee. Performers for the night included Skotch Davis, Jasmine Solano, Ricky Rude, Neako, Chase N. Cashe, Troy Ave., Rich Hil, The Airplane Boys, and the man of the night, Kendrick Lamar. Every artist came out and put on a great show for all of the fans in attendance, but no one lit up the night quite like Kendrick… literally. Fans stood around to recite every last verse, word from word, like bible verses.
Once again, an amazing night with many great thanks to all of the artists who came out, Angela Yee for holding the stag down with me, RedBull for giving all the artists energy back stage, and Rocksmith NYC for supplying giveaway items to the fans in attendance.
Karen Civil’s BYE BYE NY Party

Last night, I celebrated my going away party at Covet Lounge in Manhattan. I got to gather some of my closest personal and industry friends for a night of fun, laughter and shared memories. X-Rated Fusion Liquor helped me party the “Civil Way” by sponsoring the event and creating some special drinks in honor of me. Without giving away to much, I’ve decided to trade in my metro card for a surfboard. Its time for me to venture off, and move the KC.com brand to California. I want to thank everyone who has continuously helped make the KC brand stronger by the day. I look forward to making this site BIGGER & BETTER for my continuous supporters and website readers.
Special Thanks: Tiffany Hardin @ Translation LLC, Herve Leger, X-Rated Fusion, Shakara @ Get Em Girls Cupcakes, Covet Lounge, Rebel Photo, DJ Naim & Brandon Williams of Sony Music

Last night Diggy held a private party for close family and friends at lucky strike in NY to celebrate his 16th birthday. Guest included the Simmons family of course, Russell Simmons, Bow Wow, Mickey Factz, Skyzoo, Toya and Reginae Carter, the Combs kids, and Chris Classic. Diggy played exclusive cuts of his new LP for the crowd saying ‘I want to surprise everyone and give you an exclusive listen to what could be my potential single‘ and he went on to play ‘Copy Paste‘

The panel included respected names such as Peter Rosenberg, Saigon, Dallas Penn, Reggie Osse (managing editor of The Source and host of the “Combat Jack Radio Show”) and, humbly, myself. Aside from speaking about how Facebook, Twitter and other avenues have helped increase publicity and respect around our respective brands, we also afforded tips to bloggers, DJ’s and artists on how they could do the same.
This all took place last Friday at NYC’s Entertainment, Gaming & Sports Hub at Red Bull.

There aren’t many more people in Hip Hop right loved (and equally as hated) as Lil B at the current moment. That’s what makes him so interesting to follow. Last night, I was blessed with opportunity to host his listening party for his new LP Angels Exodus at Velour NYC. B “cooked” and played cuts from the album which will be released January 18 on Amalgam Digital, but he also took time to speak to his fans in attendance.
The highly controversial “Based God” spoke on the importance and the influence the East Coast and artists like RZA, MF Doom, Jean Grae and overall “real lyricism” had on his progression and on the album itself. Angels is  digital release only project and can be found exclusively www.AmalgamDigital.com with 2 additional bonus tracks. And in the video, B explains he has two projects on the way. The second is a full length album entitled Glass Face set to soon follow next week’s release.
Thanks to Amber Ravenel, Joe & Next from Amalgam Digital for putting together a great event!
The 13th Annual Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk For Women at Times Square kick off this morning. The event centered around cancer and the need to create even more awareness which takes the lives of far too many each year.On the surface, supporting any foundation attempting to fight cancer sounds good. This was definitely a motivational and inspirational event. There were women there who were battling cancer, survived cancer and the family and friends of those who have lost their lives to the disease. Notable names included Dr. Oz, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Lilly Tartikoff, Jesse Martin, Trey Songz and Halle Berry were in attendance.

The event was hosted by the fabolous and immaculate Dee Vasquez and that was just the beginning. This was one of those events that rejuvenate and inspire you to keep moving forward with what you are currently doing. In essence, it was a “breath of fresh air.” These women answered questions on a variety of topics including: how they got their start, outer beauty, struggle and what they have planned for the future.
It’s not often you’ll see such a group of dedicated, beautiful and down to earth women dropping knowledge on the music industry and this was the exact reason why I am so thrilled I attended. As sort of a bonus, there was also a raffle. I even ended up winning a cool gift jewelry set from Laure Luxe. It is metal coture jewelry with pieces donning the same names as various streets in Brooklyn.
Again, I can’t emphasize how important attending this event was. Great speakers, great knowledge and invaluable networking. That’s about everything you can ask for from something similar to this. With that said, credit must be given to the women who were the inspiration and drive behind it all: Amber Ravenal, Princess Lopez, Rosa Daniels and Stephanie Carnegie.

Enter Omarion. In what was sort of impromptu, the former lead man of B2K went through a 20 minute set performing songs such as “I Get It In” and “Speeding” while making the audience throw their “O’s” in the air. It wasn’t Fab, but it was better than nothing. And it reminded me of the Chris Brown performance from a few months ago, probably because of the dancing. All in all, to say I’m disappointed with the overall lack of management and cohesion with New Jersey events doesn’t do my true feelings justice. As the host, I was embarrassed and it wasn’t even my event. One of these days these “party promoters” will learn how to properly run an event. You heard Jeezy – scared money don’t make no money. Good look trying to convince people to come to your next event.
On a more positive note, I must thank Jiovani for allowing me to rock a stunning one strap black dress and La Petite Blog for styling me for the evening. Also, shout out to the homie Blogxilla who was in attendance as well. Be sure to check out more pictures from the event at djnaim.com.

Skateboard extraordinaire and reality starRob Dyrdek keeps churning out entertaining television programming. The former star of MTV’s hit reality show Rob & Big is currently taping the third season of his highly successful Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory. With his cousin rapper Chris “Drama” Pfaff by his side the synopsis of this show involves making everyone’s fantasy come true in one form or another.
Based in sunny California, the factory contains the worlds first ever all-concrete skating plaza as well as a corporate office complex christened ‘Corpo’. Rob had a office built separately for himself as well as a smaller version of his office complex for his cousin Drama. As a gift to Drama, Rob had a recording studio built inside the factory as well and named it “The Hands of God.”
There were several ramps, half pipe, hand rails, ledges, a street snake, and basketball hoops. The show features numerous hysterically funny moments and items such as Rob’s three wheeled motorcycle, inventive basketball shots, and numerous methods of flying into the factory’s foam pit. While this is a close knit working family often celebrity, pro skaters, as well as Internet sensation have taking part in the show’s antics. They include rock group Blink 182, rapper Ludacris, NBA basketball star Carmelo Anthony, motor-sports competitor Travis Pastrana and many others.
Last week Kevin Delaney of Young & Reckless Clothing Brand invited me to the Fantasy Factory and you know I couldn’t pass up the chance!

“It was Jay’s idea,” Thicke said about how Nicki Minaj came to be on “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy.”
