“Them Roc Nation rumors ain’t true, but yeah I heard ‘em…”

Let’s get this straight: Nipsey‘s debut album, the mythical Detox and Game’s R.E.D. album all in one year? It may not happen, but the thought sounds good as I type it. Keep in mind we’ve already gotten an E-40 project and Snoop is preparing to re-release Malice In Wonderland. And Too $hort will always be around. The West appears to be alive and kicking right now, and honestly, I couldn’t be more happy about it. Pac would be proud.

Talk about girl power: This summer, Rihanna will take her smash album Rated R on the road for her “Last Girl On Earth” North American tour. She’ll also be joined by up and coming pop star Ke$ha.LiveNation.com on April 9.

The ladies, along with rapper Nicki Minaj, will kick it off in Seattle July 2, and make 25 total stops – including Los Angeles on July 21 and Madison Square Garden in N.Y.C. on Aug. 12 – ending August 25 in Chicago.

Normally, I don’t pay people like Kat Stacks any mind. Groupies bragging about having sex with entire cliques just seems odd. I mean, isn’t that what they’re supposed to do? You’re not there to talk how they feel about health care or where they seem themselves in five years. So, Kat Stacks bragging about running through all of YM makes no sense whatsoever. At least to me.

Which is why I’m thrilled to see the Rosenthal goons (I say that with all due respect) address the situation.

Young Legend leaked this last night. Trey reflects on his long road to success over Boi-1da and Drake’s outing. Not a bad outing from Songz and I’ll say it again, Trey > a lot of rappers (and singers) who attempt to hop on industry beats. Crazy thing is, he’s been doing it since 2004.

Forget all that though, I have to give respect to Trey for one thing.

May 18 will be here quicker than you know it. This means a little over six weeks separate us from the release of Distant Relatives, the highly anticipated collaboration between Nas and Damian Marley. Yesterday night, Digiwaxx held a listening session for the project in their Harlem office hosted by Steph Luva. The place was filled to capacity. And by capacity, I mean there was hardly any air in the room.

Yet and still, people sacrificed a few hours of being uncomfortable to hear the project Escobar was touting as something his fans have never heard from him. For the most part he was right. This was Nas flexing his lyrical prowess over Marley’s finest instrumentations. It was hip-hop fused with reggae, obviously. But it’s something the both of them hope will show its worth far beyond record sales. During the listening session, the two would go on to answer questions thrown at them from various members of the audience. When asked about his legacy and longevity, a confident Nasir answered:

“Where do I see myself? I’m waiting for the rap game to catch up.”

Initially, Distant Relatives was only meant to be an EP. After vibing with each other so much in the studio, the idea of a full-length album was born. It took slightly over a year to complete the project. Nas spoke intently on songs creation for the album as well.

Almost a month ago, one of Hip Hops leading lyricists, Lil Wayne, was sentenced to eight months in prison for weapons possession charges in New York’s infamous Rikers Island.  However, while serving out his time, he has devised a positive and interactive way to keep in contact to the many fans who support him.

Recently, Weezy explained to me the idea behind Weezythanxyou.com, which will basically serve as his gate way to the free world. The site will allow the Young Money quarterback to post daily status updates as well as answer fan questions. “I wanted to do something for my fans, so they know I am still with them and that I love them very much,” Wayne told me not too long ago. Fans who want to keep up Weezy’s release date will allowed to see a continuously running countdown clock until Dr. Carter returns home later this year.

The new site and new songs will not be the only thing he will be penning either. Even while not able to watch his favorite show, SportsCenter, everyday, Wayne will soon be returning to blogging for ESPN.com. His first post detailing his thoughts on the NCAA Final Four is scheduling to be released next week.
