Swizz Beatz has joined forces with Aston Martin to create a unique film trilogy showcasing the luxury British marque’s stunning new sportscar, the Rapide. Today, Aston Martin and Swizz Beatz have released Part I of the series, including exclusive behind the scenes footage from the set. Parts 2, & 3 are slated for release in the coming weeks.

There aren’t many more people in Hip Hop right loved (and equally as hated) as Lil B at the current moment. That’s what makes him so interesting to follow. Last night, I was blessed with opportunity to host his listening party for his new LP Angels Exodus at Velour NYC. B “cooked” and played cuts from the album which will be released January 18 on Amalgam Digital, but he also took time to speak to his fans in attendance.

The highly controversial “Based God” spoke on the importance and the influence the East Coast and artists like RZA, MF Doom, Jean Grae and overall “real lyricism” had on his progression and on the album itself. Angels is  digital release only project and can be found exclusively www.AmalgamDigital.com with 2 additional bonus tracks. And in the video, B explains he has two projects on the way. The second is a full length album entitled Glass Face set to soon follow next week’s release.

Rap supergroup Slaughterhouse and budding superstar Yelawolf have been signed to Eminem’s Shady Records it was announced today.

“Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, it’s kinda phase two of Shady,” says Eminem.  “It’s the new generation of Shady Records and as we’re trying to rebuild our label, it’s exciting for hip-hop and with all of these forces coming together and with what everybody’s capable of on the mic, it’s gonna be fun.”

Bringing together the East Coast, West Coast and Detroit in the middle, Slaughterhouse consists of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5’9”.  Most recently, Slaughterhouse was featured on “Session One,” a bonus track on Eminem’s 2010 blockbuster Recovery album.  Eminem is expected to be personally involved in Slaughterhouse’s sophomore album scheduled for release in 2011.

Late last year, Yelawolf released Trunk Muzik 0-60, a compilation of select tracks from his critically acclaimed 2010 mixtape Trunk Muzik, along with six previously unavailable songs.  The Alabama native is currently in the studio recording his full length major label debut.

“Considering where I’m from and the shit I’ve been through, it’s hard to put into words what partnering with Shady means to me, my team at Ghet-O-Vision, and my state of Alabama.  I can tell you that when you’re willing to give your life up to see a dream through, the reward is great.  And now that I’ve become an apprentice to one of the greatest artists in the world, my potential reaches beyond anything I ever imagined. Here is your first look at Kanye West’s custom watch, an 18 karat yellow gold watch by Tiret.  According to Luxist, Yeezy has been wearing the piece a lot recently. Here’s some more info:

“The watch dial features two Swiss quartz chronograph movements. So you have two times, two chronographs, etc… The real allure is in all the jewel work. Tiret claims it took them over five months to create the dial. The dial itself is in gold toned mother-of-pearl, with a combo of white, yellow, brown, and black diamonds. The bezel is lined with very large diamonds as well. The watch is said to have a total of about 8 carats of stones. Kayne’s face has been immortalized on the dial – complete with sunglasses. Retail price for this is said to be about $180,000, and is custom made specially for each client”

Nicki Minaj’s career has been going strong and it continues with the announcement of her face on V Magazine. The sexy, yet tasteful cover is definitely going to be of the fans delight when they see the latest edition. Announced that she was on the cover of the magazine, Nicki blasted out the image of the magazine to friends across the world this morning.
Taking away the props and just sharing a moment, the entertainer looks right into the camera. No doubt the other poses we have seen of the star were all themed; this one had just simplicity to it like no other. The pose had Nicki’s eyes directly looking into the camera and sharing a moment.
The cover girl definitely had the cover piece. The article about Nicki Minaj is entitled ‘A Birth of a Star.’ The magazine will be on newsstands later this month.

A few weeks ago, Mac Miller stopped in Chicago for his first time ever while on the Most Dope Tour and ImFlashy.com had the opportunity to catch up with him before his shows at Reggie’s.  During our talk, Mac discussed his upcoming projects and how he has a collaboration with Chiddy Bang coming out.  He shows off his latest tattoo addition and mentions how his tour stop in Toronto produced some of the best weed he’s ever seen.  Mac wraps things up by going in depth about his industry co-signs from Talib and 9th Wonder.

In the coming weeks, Wyclef Jean – the man who often finds himself on the wrong side of controversy – sat down with Rolling Stone to speak about his new album If I Were President, The Haitian Experience. This three minute clip finds the Fugee breaking down the inspiration and meaning behind a few songs from the project while also candidly speaking about the plight in his home country.

He compares the level of devastation in Haiti to what it would be like if everyone in NYC knew someone who died in a natural disaster. Clef himself knew 10 people who died as a result of the earthquake. And since we’re on the subject, today marks exactly a year when the country was rocked with its worst quake in over 200 years. We can all remember the outpouring of support and sickening images of the rubble and dead bodies being pulled from it. A lot has happened since then, and a lot has to be done to get the country on its feet again. We can only hope some good fortune is afforded to Haiti because if anyone deserves it those people do. Yet, Phyllisia released her own tribute “L’Union Fait La Force” meaning “Unity Is Strength.”
