As one of the first East Asian R&B/pop artists to make noise in the music industry, JMD/Universal Records Baiyu is continuing to prep her debut. Music isn’t her first foray into entertainment however. The Gaithersburg, Maryland, resident has been a host for the MTVU show Freshman for the past three years as well as her work with Seventeen Music.

“Take A Number” is her first major single which is produced by KQuick. The Bronx’s own Fred The Godson lends his services with the feature verse. Be on the lookout for more material from Baiyu in the near future.

In the November issue of XXL Magazine (50 Cent & Soulja Boy on cover), R. Kelly spoke on his relationship with Tupac & his original plans for the Best Of Both Worlds LP.

Well, “I Wish” was basically about Tupac about first. I met Tupac in L.A.- the [Hotel Nikko] and he was rolling by in his drop-top-whatever hot car. I seen him, and yelled out, “Pac! Pac” He was driving by, rolling by himself. I’m like, his nigga got a lot of balls to be rolling by himself! So he made a U-Turn, jumped out the car. “What up, my nigga?” So we kicked it for a minute. I said, “Dude, we need to do an album.” See, The Best Of Both Worlds was for me and Tupac first. “I Wish” was gonna be the first song that we were gonna do.
