Say what you will about Kanye West, but things are a lot more fun when he’s ranting, dropping quality music and doing whatever it is he does to piss off the establishment. Earlier this week, it was reported Wal-Mart did not approve of Kanye’s upcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy due to the graphic nature of its cover. Turns out, that may not exactly be the case.

“We’re excited about Kanye West’s new album and we look forward to carrying it in our stores on November 22nd,” a Walmart spokesperson says in a statement provided to EW. “As always, it’s our standard practice to carry the edited parental advisory version. We did not reject the cover artwork and it was never presented to us to view.”

We’ll just put this on Kanye’s tab of misunderstandings since he seems to be stock piling them this week. In related Kanye West album cover news, he recently revealed there will be five covers which will be available when you go to the store on November 22 to purchase the album.

Three things you don’t do:

1) Spit into the wind

2) Tug on Superman’s cape

3) Give a bad review to a Kanye West-related project

As we all know by now, Mr. West has been stopping in various cities around the world showcasing his Runaway film. For the most part, it’s received positive reviews based on the originality, concept and the music which guides the piece. That was, however, until Chris Lee of the L.A. Times critquied the film.

And as you can see, the end result was our first official Kanye Twitter rant.

While certain songs by Virginia-based rap act Clipse are interpreted as storied, romanticized ruminations on the lives of street hustlas and drug dealers, that isn’t necessarily their intent. MC and lyricist Malice has released a number of web videos over the past year, encouraging those around him to look beyond the hype and think for themselves. Like the group’s songs, these short videos — featuring acting by Malice and his entourage — show the downside of often-celebrated stereotypes, reminding us that thug life isn’t something to which we should actually aspire.

Malice’s forthcoming memoir, Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind and Naked, is an extension of that idea. In Excerpt #2, Malice offers a live-action recitation of a section of the book, recounting a time when he was living so far beyond his means that he was paid a visit by the repo man. It’s a lesson in the indulgence and consequence that can accompany an influx of cash with no corresponding sense of responsibility.
