Lloyd Banks’ mega posse cut “Start It Up” has been making its rounds as of late. Everyone who has written, tweeted or spoke about the song seemingly can’t stop singing its praises. Already dope enough as it is, the story gets even sweeter (or bitter depending how you look at it) once you realize Pusha T was also slated to be on the record as well. For whatever reasons, he didn’t make the final cut. In the age of Internet, however, nothing is ever lost.
I’m not sure how he got his hands on this, but DJ Kast One played the lost verse from Pusha live on Hot 97 last night. And in quick turn around time, here it is for those of you who do not live in the NY/NJ area. It’s a radio rip, but these things go in stages. Expect a CDQ version soon.

It’s great that many know Skillz for his always anticipated year end lyrical synopsis. They’re dope. But, contrary to popular belief, he also has great songs that have nothing to do with the aformentioned concept. My fellow VA native has a project dropping next week entitled The World Needs More Skillz and “Celebrate Life” is the first look.
It’s a feel-good track equipped with a laid back instrumental and a well catered flow from Skillz. Pretty much, it is a song you would put your glass in the air, toast and simply celebrate life too. The subject matter isn’t too heavy, so it doesn’t come off as if he’s preaching. Yet, listen close enough and you’ll hear that he is dropping quality bars through out. The piano solo towards the end was a great touch, too.
