Bink has been one of the talked about named as of late thanks to his production on Kanye’s “Devil In A New Dress.” Don’t disrespect him by conning yourself to believe that was his first marquee production either. To combat such, DDot caught up with the producer to speak on everything from how Bink and Ye linked up with one another, working with Joell Ortiz and his fondest memories of working on Jay-Z’s opus, The Blueprint. But instead of me attempting to paraphrase, I’ll let Omen tell it since he was there for the whole thing.

I put Bink in the hot seat about some of the newer talent that’s around and artists he’s been wanting to work with, he pointed out Wiz Khalifa, Curren$y, Royce Da 5’9 but indicated “[Andre 3000] top dog would be like Dre 3000 my ideal, who I would want to be working with, like him on that Devil In A New Dress would be retarded”. I pointed out the buzz on the internet calling out for Ghostface to hop on Devil In A New Dress to which Bink agreed. “We should get all four, and get like an all star cast for that” he added. Next we covered new coming producers, and Bink praised Boi1da & 40, giving props to the Canadian producers “You gotta come into the game with that twist, inspiring and innovating other producers, that’s what it’s all about”. Lastly Bink offered his advice to upstart producers, stating “Keep ya circle full of, like pitbulls man, people who are nicer than you or just as nice. [cause] if you always the hottest cat, you can’t learn. Try to align yourself with [other] people who this for real, people who make you nervous to play a joint cause they just that tight”.

If it’s high quality footage coming from the West Coast, best believe DJ Skee and SkeeTV has a hand in it. For his latest project, we have the preview for Ice Cube’s upcoming album I Am The West. It’s basically a preview to three seperate videos:

1) Introducing OMG and Doughboy “She couldn’t Make It on her Own”

2) “Ya’ll Know How I am” feat. OMG, Doughboy, WC & Maylay

3) “Too West Coast” feat. WC & Maylay

The album hits shelves September 28.

It’s never a story unless there’s proof! Chatter has been floating around the blogosphere for months about Pusha T signing with G.O.O.D. Music, but there was never any concrete confirmation until Sunday night after the VMA performance when Pusha chatted with MTVNews.

“I’m definitely signed with G.O.O.D. Music. I’m definitely doing my solo project through G.O.O.D. Music,” the Virginia MC confirmed to MTV News’ Sway. “The Clipse is definitely coming with a new Clipse project. We’re definitely coming with the Re-Up Game project. The family is still here, man. It’s just all about G.O.O.D. Music, straight up.”

I guess the tell-tale sign should have been Kanye’s latest release “G.O.O.D. Friday” which included the whole G.O.O.D. Music family.

Jim Jones loves the kids and apparently he’s running for the title of the hood’s “Robin Hood.” You may remember earlier this year Capo stepping into a classroom and giving kids the run down on the music business. That act was well received by the public and hip-hop community alike. With that in mind, Jones is taking it a step further. Harlem’s own popped up at a school in the Bronx this past Saturday and blessed the people with laptops and iPod Touches.

Why? I’m not sure, but there’s now law stating you have to have a reason to give back those less fortunate and remembering where you came from. Respect to Jim for the act of generosity and making sure his money goes to good use. Don’t expect to see this on your evening news though.

I had totally forgot about this case until recently. For those that don’t  here is the breakdown. Two years ago, Anthony Tyrone Terrell invited a girl over his house without permission. After getting into an argument with his mother, all hell literally broke loose. No one will ever know what came over Tyrell then, but what we do know is that three people ended up deceased – his mother (Joy Deleston, who was a Gwinnett County sheriff’s deputy) and her two younger daughters.

Terrell pleaded guilty to murder charges Friday and was sentenced to back-to-back life terms. He apologized and said he wished he could trade his life for the lives of the departed. But he was hard-pressed to explain how an argument so trivial could prompt a reaction so brutal.

“I never planned what happened that day,” Terrell said, his voice even as he read a prepared statement before Superior Court Judge Debra Turner. “My mom and I got into a disagreement and things just spiraled out of control.”

Prosecutors said after the pair argued Terrell retrieved his mother’s service handgun and shot her twice.

Patience is a virtue. Three years ago, Juelz Santana shot a movie entitled The Project along with Michael David Stahl and Matt Servito. After numerous accolades from several film festivals, the movie is finally being released onto dvd.

Three first-time filmmakers, Justin, Dana and John set out to document the hardships of inner-city life. Justin follows two NYPD officers while Dana and John focus on Thomas (a black youth poised to move up from his hardships). Stories merge, relationships corrode and the filmmakers become participants in the underground world they set out to document.

As fate would have it, the film will finally get see its release date tomorrow on DVD. In this clip, Santana speaks about the movie and how it came to be. Jim Jones also makes an appearance in the film as well.
