I’ve never met Mack Maine, but I’d imagine he’s a cool dude. As one of the longest standing members of Cash Money/Young Money, he’s also one of the biggest reasons for their continued success over the years. Before becoming an executive, his original job title was that of an artist. Last year, he dropped This Is Just A Mixtape with Don Cannon which got some good burn from me during the winter and spring of ’09. If I remember correctly, it came out a few weeks before So Far Gone.

Anyway, one of my favorite tracks from the tape was the Mistah FAB featured “Man Cry.” As trivial as it may sound, Cannon’s Young Dro drop was one of my favorites in recent memory. I know it sounds stupid, but that’s one of the things I remember about the song. More importantly though, the most piercing element of track was the sample.

With Ski Beatz on the boards and Curren$y in front of the mic, good things tend to happen. That’s exactly what’s going on in this clip. The first one is still fresh in people’s minds, but it appears as if Pilot Talk 2 is already underway. Personally, the best thing about PT2 was the fact that Ski produced damn near the entire project. Hopefully they don’t stray too far from that formula for the sequel.

Given the way projects are pushed back in Hip-Hop, however, I’m not expecting this to drop until early 2011.

Long before LeBron/Wade/Bosh, long before Rick Ross and Trina, long before DJ Khaled, but after Luther Campbell, Trick Daddy made it his sole mission to embed Miami on the Hip-Hop map. Trick’s legacy is important, for lack of a better phrase. A lot of people don’t know he was one of 27 (yes, 27) children. His music has always been a reflection of his coming up and trials he experienced in the streets. He has never comprised his sound and he has never shied away from telling the entire country he was proud of being a thug. A thug who never second guessed himself when speaking on ills not only in his own city, but the world as a whole. From Slip-N-Slide to Dunk Ryders to several hit records in between, the entire story will officially be told with the November 16 release of his autobiography, Magic City: Trials of a Native Son.

TMZ Reports

Law enforcement sources tell us L.A. County Sheriff‘s deputies pulled over the multi-platinum selling rapper and his wife in a Maybach on Sunset Boulevard around 10:30PM. Deputies say they smelled marijuana, and after searching the vehicle they arrested T.I. and Tameka.
The couple just got married on July 30 in Miami, and T.I. — real name Clifford Harris Jr. — is on probation after doing seven months in prison on federal weapons charges.

We’re told T.I. and Tameka are in custody right now. Bail amount is $10,000.

Last night, Don Cannon vented on Twitter about people who continuously ask for the NO DJ version of mixtapes – specifically his. I tend to agree with him mainly because drops aren’t that annoying to me and bring another element to the tape. As long as it’s not the “for sample clearance only” tag then I’m alright with drops. In moderation and as long as they do not overshadow the artist, of course.

That being said, here’s the untagged version of Big Sean’s collabo with Bun B, “Money & Sex.” I still have yet to sit down and give Finally Famous 3 an honest listen, so hopefully I can do that today. For the most part, I’m hearing good reviews and hearing the production is even better. Hopefully that’s the case. For those who have yet to scoop the tape,
