Truthfully, I’ve been waiting on this collab since Midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik dropped last year. UGK - specifically Bun B‘s – legacy is forever in tact for lacing the Hip-Hop world with some of the best “street music” the genre has ever seen. In more recent times, Freddie Gibbs fits that mold.

Given Freddie’s track record with music in recent times and Bun’s ability to mentor younger artists to success, this is a win-win all the way around. Look for this to surface on the highly anticipated Str8 Killa No Filla.

Fresh out the pen, back on the grind, Tip’s first official release as a free man is a mixtape. F*ck that. Actually, it’s F*ck A Mixtape and judging from the tracklist, it’s easy to see why its named that. It sets up like album and plays through just like one. Featuring original production from Jim Jonsin, No I.D., Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, DJ Toomp and others, T.I. proves that ever since he hit that halfway house earlier this year, his time has been put to good use. No questions about that.

This should carry him over nicely until August 17 when King Uncaged hits shelves – and Takers hits theaters August 20. If it plays out like King and ATL did, then we could be in for a repeat offering of deja vu. Regardless, The King is back. So how’s the rest of the game going to act? You shouldn’t worry about that, however. All that is required of you is simple. Throw this on the iPod or grab a blank CD. This may be in rotation for a minute.

People Magazine Reports:

A wedding and a baby are on the way for Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. The musicians “are expecting a baby and are engaged to be married in a private ceremony later this year,” reps for the couple confirm to PEOPLE. The announcement comes after the two, together since fall 2008, attended Thursday night’s Black Ball in London, which benefits Keys’s Keep a Child Alive charity.

These two have been sleeping with each other for years, and unfortunately Swizz at the time was married to singer/ex wife Mashonda. The same way you caught him Alicia is the same way you will loose him. Destroying a family to create your own. Good Luck with that Ms. Keys.

With Wayn’e incarceration that isn’t stopping him from making sure his presence it felt musically. Look for him to also be hosting his first mixtape from prison. The mixtape”Fetti Holmes” Pt 2 is a joint effort between Scoob Doo and DJ Drama and Weezy participates via phone-call interludes. New music from Drake and the Birdman also appears on the project.

Janet Jackson stopped by “American Idol” for their season finale to show the rookies how veterans command an audience. Running through her new hit, “Nothing,” she also ended the performance with dazzling performance of his timeless classic, “Nasty.”

It’s good to see Janet still remaining relevant in an industry that seems to kick artists to the curve after a certain amount of time. I just hope people truly appreciate what she’s meant for music, better yet pop culture as a whole. Multi-platinum albums, successful movies and she’s managed to do it all while maintaining a positive image (that whole Superbowl thing not pending).
