Mixtape: Chance The Rapper-”Acid Rap”

It’s finally here. Chicago-bred Chance The Rapper’s highly anticipated “Acid Rap” has arrived. We’ve been posting visuals, tracks here and there but now its time to hear the project in its entirety. The tape has 13 tracks with some heavy-hitting features from Ab-Soul, Action Bronson, Childish Gambino, Twista and many more. Judging by the tracklist below, the production looks like Chance pulled out all the stops for this one. But as always, we’ll let you all be the judge. Watch: Chance The Rapper & Ab-Soul Drop New “Smoke Again” Visual

Smoke Again? Of course we will. Chance The Rapper hits us now with his back seat video to “Smoke Again” featured on his sophomore project “AcidRap”. Marijuana inspired? Of course  the new cut features Ab-Soul who hops in the video to smoke up aside Chance in this IllRoots directed cut. Aside from the video, the sound of this track is impeccable  very original. Check the “Smoke Again” video after the jump.

Ab-Soul hooks up with Mac Miller and his alter ego Larry Fisherman for his latest track. Not sure if this will appear on an upcoming project from Soul or if he just wanted fans to have a new track, but nonetheless, it’s pretty good. Audio after the jump.

In celebration of the 2013 Freshmen Class, XXL Magazine has decided to put a different spin on the introduction of each up and comer with releases of freestyles, music, and  more. But the what is better than seeing a handful of ‘em in a good, classic freestyle cypher? “The XXL Freshmen Cypher, Episode 1″ features the first four up to the plate, Brooklyn-riser Joey Bada$$, G.O.O.D Music and Hustle Gang signee, Travi$ Scott, one third of super-group Black Hippy and TDE representer, Ab-Soul and the Queens, NY and Albanian sensation Action Bronson. Although this only episode one, who do we want to see come out on top? Peep the video above.

It’s finally arrived! Every year, the hip-hop community patiently awaits to see who will make the cut and who got snubbed from one of the most impactful nods in the hip-hop game. From Kendrick Lamar‘s career taking new heights, and fans in uproar about King Chip missing from last year’s inductees, debates stirred about whether this group of newly exposed talent was beginning to fall off. But judging by the XXL Freshman Class 2013, critics and competition may be keeping silent. The Compton invasion of New York City continued last night as Ab-Soul performed in front of packed house at SOB’s. Soul didn’t come to SOB’s alone as he surprised the crowd with fellow TDE member and currently one of the top rappers in the game, Kendrick Lamar. During Kendrick’s time on stage, with the help of the crowd they recited “Backseat Freestyle” in unison.
