Our very own, the lovely Karen Civil recently sat down with MMG front-runner Meek Mill for an exclusive all access BTS interview. Opening up on tour, fresh on the stage, Meek Mill claims “fu** Reebok” in recognition of their decision to drop MMG President Rick Ross. Meek feels like brands as large as Reebok, take advantage of the popularity of urban culture music, make the money off of the rappers and then drop them when they aren’t worth anything. Just two weeks ago, KarenCivil.com had the opportunity to take our camera’s live on the road. We caught up with seasoned rap veteran Bleu Davinci‘s most recent signee Tabius Tate and followed his journey to headline the BET Music Matter’s Showcase at S.O.B.’s in New York City. In extreme anticipation for the “Excuse My French” album drop this May, rapper French Montana is getting all of his visual masterpieces in line. Fresh off the screen from the “Freaks” video that featured a lusty-yet-tasteful Nicki Minaj, French Montana hits the set in Miami of his new video “Gifted” that features a guest collaboration from our favorite “Triology” crooner- The Weeknd; assisted by two little tiger cubs that get up close and personal on set. Ciara drops today the sneak peek to her new video “Body Party”, a seductive track that expounds on the play of the human physique “Your Body Is My Party”. “Body Party” reenacts the experience where Ciara and current Hip Hop boyfriend Future started vibing, at one of those old school basement type parties where Ciara his grinding with her clique in front of her male love interest, who surprisingly; is actually played by Future. The soul-singer John Legend recently stopped by Power 105.1′s the “Breakfast Club” to sit down with Charlamagne, Angela Yee and DJ Envy and talks everything new that’s going on within his career. The “Tonight” singer talks about hitting the road on tour with singer Sade (where he says he would never open for anyone else, but it’s SADE); he then goes into detail of his label “Home Grown” and his signing to Kanye’s G.O.O.D Music. John Legend say’s Kanye West no longer makes beats, but is very involved with the details of the labels constant releases. Bringing along his new signed artist “Stacy Barthe”, check out the interview after the jump!

Touring right now is none other than the mind-twisting rapper Machine Gun Kelly, currently headlining his own “Lace Up” Tour tagging along many themes to his behind the scenes vlogs in order to maintain the interest of his fan base  This past road trip, MGK tags in the story line “We’re Not In Kansas Anymore”, where he is stuck in a tornado and kicked off the tour bus; a pun on the movie “Wizard of Oz” if you catch where this is going. No Stranger to the world of music, singer J.Drew is currently in the last leg of preparation in releasing his new and debut project “Never Coming Back”. Son of the legendary gospel singing sensation Karen Clark-Sheard who’s new reality show “The Sheards” recently premiered on BET; J.Drew is ready to break forth into the full realm of artistry rather than production. The 23 year old musical protege’s sound and project is described as “a blend of futuristic R&B mixed with “nu-pop trap music”. The free album trailer “Killer” plays up the theme of smoke, mirrors and sexy female models portrayed as “killers”; assisted by a black & white film screen, exotic cars and futuristic visuals, watch the trailer after the jump!

A few weeks back, we had initially posted the “behind the scenes” trailer of what Hip Hop would call quite a special episode of Iyanla: Fix My Life. Airing on Oprah Winfrey’s “OWN Network”, Iyanla Vanzant is the host and life counselor of the show where she delves deep into the lives of some of the most hurt, scorned or mentally unstable people who just happen to be in the business of entertainment. Well this time by request, Iyanla sits down with rapper DMX. Supposedly sitting down so DMX can come to a resolve of why he can’t help but sleep with multiple women, the intervention session takes a turn into the rappers drug addiction, his confused childhood and the demons that he fights daily.
