Video: Goodie Mob Debut ‘Fight To Win’ On The Voice

The newly reunited ’90s hip-hop group Goodie Mob, took to the small screen last night as they debuted their new single, “Fight To Win” on The Voice. In speaking with Complex magazine last night, Green revealed additional information about the upcoming Goodie Mob release, as well as his own solo work. He said: “It’s definitely a sharpened sword. We recently titled the album, ‘Age Against the Machine,’ where wisdom is the weapon of choice. That should sound something like a continuation from where Goodie Mob left off. We’re older, wiser and a lot better.”

Age Against The Machine is coming soon.

“Everything is about soul. Everything is about integrity, honesty, originality and invention. So, if I can incorporate those things, quality is the only thing it should be judged on—the quality of the content.” -Cee-Lo

Consider this the happy hour edition of “Billboard Breakdown.” The first drink is free before 8 p.m. EST.

1. Adele – 21 – 77,130 - The songbird appears to get more and more popular as the weeks go by and the numbers prove such. With over 2.75M already scanned and in households across America, she’s still moving 77,000 a week.

5. DJ Khaled – We The Best Forever – 52,914 - Probably not the numbers Khaled wanted to see, but pretty much expected from my seat in the arena. “I’m On One” is still my favorite single of the summer, if that’s any consolation.

9. Amy Winehouse – Back To Black – 37,332 - After not even appearing on the charts last week, the deceased star’s Back To Black lands at the nine spot. Her death all but guaranteed a spot in the top 10, so I guess Jadakiss was right. “Controversy sells, but not like death.”

25. Jill Scott – Light Of The Sun – 259,191 - Congrats to Jill for this. 300K looks more like a formality than a goal now.

27. Big Sean – Finally Famous: The Album – 14,340 - He better go on and drop that “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay” video while the getting is good. “Ass,” too.

The black Kirby (Cee Lo) dropped some of the best news of the summer when he announced Goodie Mob would be dropping new music in the coming weeks. Seriously, a kool-aid grin just formed across my face typing that sentence. In the meantime, Mr. Green continues to push his own product as he releases the video for his Wiz Khalifa-assisted cut, “Bright Lights, Bigger City.”

24 Hours. Four studios. One remix.

That’s all it took to bring this quirky remix come to life. Many will probably remember ¡MAYDAY! as the group that rocked out with Wayne on the top of that Miami hotel while filming videos for the Rebirth album before his Rikers sentence began.

This video is their own creation and they also brought Ghostwridah, Mack Maine and the legendary Cee-Lo along for the ride on a song titled after one of the most superstitious days of the year. Speaking of “Groundhog Day,” I – and the entire DMV – could use the spring time that right about now.

Speaking of ¡MAYDAY!, check out their DJ Booth sponsored mixtape Lords Of The Fly.
