In an interview with Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1, Frank Ocean discussed his reasoning for releasing his debut album, Channel Orange, a week before it’s official slated date. Listen to the phone conversation to also get the details on how he prevented a leak.

To celebrate the release of Channel Orange, Frank Ocean‘s Def Jam debut, the Odd Future singer hit up the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon show Monday night. Performing one of the songs on the album that sparked the controversy regarding his sexuality, “Bad Religion”, Frank delivered a spectacular performance. Frank will kick off his North American tour in Seattle on July 13. Check out the clip after the jump!

About 7 days early from the physical release date, Frank Ocean‘s highly anticipated ‘Channel Orange‘ album has been released via iTunes. A label decision, that was confirmed by Billboard.com earlier today, will be officially announced on the Jimmy Fallon show before Frank performs with The Roots on tonights episode. It’s still very early to tell how numbers will add up for his debut release, but we are expecting high numbers for the OFWGKTA member. Purchase by using the link below.

A lot has been going on with Frank Ocean as of late but he doesn’t let those things hold him back as he releases a brand new record for us to enjoy on this beautiful Friday afternoon. It’s a lot shorter than the single “Pyramids” but it’s just as good of a song. This will land on his “Channel Orange” album which is set to be released July 17th.
