Early this summer while in Brooklyn New York at Prospect Park hip-hop artists Danny Brown, Childish Gambino & ScHoolboy Q take the stage and kick a lil freestyle for the crowd. Well folks, it’s that time of year again. After a lengthy wait and numerous pictures of possible lists floating around, XXL Magazine has released the 2012 Freshman Cover. This year XXL tried to incorporate their audiences voice, by hosting a fan pick contest. With all of that out of the way, they present this years 2012 class of who you should be paying attention to. Perhaps you’ve heard of Danny Brown. Then again, perhaps you haven’t. Two things you need to know about the fellow is that, one, he’s definitely intriguing to say the least. He’s his own artist and definitely not like many others making music. And two, the dude can straight up rap. There’s really no other way to describe him without sounding too preachy. “Blunt After Blunt” appeared on XXX, which dropped earlier this year and one of the better sounding projects of 2011 in my humble opinion.
