“6 Foot 7 Foot” was meant to show Wayne hadn’t lost a step with his rapid fire delivery as well as put Cory Gunz on centerstage. “John” was the on-wax union of arguably the two current biggest names below the Mason-Dixon line, let alone Hip Hop. The Detail-produced “How To Love”? Now this is something totally different.

Coming straight from left field, Weezy’s third single uses this guitar inspired instrumental to lament on the story of women whose hearts have grown cold from several false starts. All while harmonizing, too. It’s clear Wayne wants to impact every radio station in the country, urban and pop, with this one. Time will tell if it replicates the success of “Lollipop,” but it’s obvious that he’s going to give it another shot at least.

On a related note, his MTV Unplugged show will air June 12 on MTV and online at 9 p.m.

The Internet fooled me again. Here I was thinking everyone was paying homage to Wayne’s 2006 freestyle over Jay-Z’s Kingdom Come lead single “Show Me What You Got” earlier today. As I eventually found out, I read the title wrong and no one was having a case of nostalgia. The song itself was rumored to be the next single from Weezy’s new album Tha Carter IV (or C4 for short). That was wrong too. This will not be appearing on said album and the actual title is “You Da Sh*t” and was produced by Detail.

Tha Carter IV is set to touch down sometime this spring. “I Hate Love” will not appear on the final tracklisting, but does find Weezy donning autotune once again over up this instrumental from up and coming beatsmith Detail. Speaking of the producer, be sure to check back next for an exclusive interview with him.

If you’re a fan of reggae, you may want to add this to your archives. Sean Kingston and Detail saw no time like the present and let go of their version. Detail has a long list of credits to his name which include Snoop’s “I Wanna Love You,” Ray J’s “Sexy Can I” and Akon’s “I’m So Paid.” You’ll also remember him from his ink-inspired “Tattoo Girl (Foreva)”  with T-Pain and Lil Wayne. Look for his still untitled album to drop later this year. Until then, head over to his official site to learn more.

Speaking of Sean (whose birthday is today, actually), be sure to check out his new mixtape with DJ Ill Will and DJ Drama, King Of Kingz.
