Diggy Simmons – “New God Flow” (Freestyle)

Hop in the car with young Diggy Simmons as he rides around New York going in over Pusha T and Kanye‘s “New God Flow” track. Pretty tough task to try and rap over such a good song but Diggy holds it down and lets go of some pretty decent bars in the freestyle. Video directed by Clifton Bell and can be viewed after the jump. Unexpected Arrival in stores now

Diggy Simmons and J. Cole Squash Beef

During KMEL’s Summer Jam in San Francisco, California, Diggy Simmons and J.Cole put their differences aside and squashed their beef. Ever since J.Cole dropped the song “Purple Rain”, which he subliminally rapped about being involved in a sexual way with Diggy’s older sister Vanessa Simmons, Run’s House hasn’t been to fond of the grammy nominated rapper.

“Good girl huh, father was a preacher/ sent her off to college thought I got her on a leash though / from the outside though, them girls be the squeakiest / you get ‘em inside them girls be the freakiest. -J.Cole

Diggy wasn’t happy to hear what J.Cole had to say about his sister, so he responded with a diss track of his own entitled, “What You Say To Me”. According to AllHipHop News, both artists’ say they were sorry, embraced and walked back to their dressing rooms. Both of the artists’ publicists, bodyguards and crew blocked all camera from taking pictures since this was private and between both artists.

Oh, before we get into this, Adele’s still #3 on the charts with 21. It sold 334,000 copies this week. As you were.

6. Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – 48,000 - She’s back on Twitter and still in the top 10. Give her a few more weeks and we’re looking at a gold album.

8. Future – Pluto – 41,000 - “At The Same Damn Time” is one of my favorite singles of 2012 (even though it was out before then). I wasn’t really expecting Future to do crazy numbers and the fact remains he’ll make most of his money off club appearances, features and singles.

20. Drake – Take Care – 16,000 - Drizzy’s always talking about his third album and the second is still doing numbers on the charts.

46. Tyga – Careless World – 8,300 - I was telling someone the other week this album was probably one of the more slept on of this year.

57. Young Jeezy – TM103 – 7,000 - Young and the entire CTE clique promoted the hell out of this album. Is it too selfish to ask when Trap Or Die 3 is coming out?

81. Jay-Z & Kanye West – Watch The Throne – 5,000 - Not that it has anything to do with the album, but that first double date with Jay/Beyonce and Kanye/Kim should be interesting.

152. Diggy Simmons – Unexpected Arrival – 2,700 - I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about the young boy’s “Around The Way Girl” remake.

167. Snoop Dogg – Stoner’s EP – 2,500 - I wasn’t even aware this was even released.

1. Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – 253,000 - There wasn’t much doubt about who was going to land at the number one spot. At least she gave Queens a W this week. Lord knows Havoc and Prodigy damn near gave Q.B. the blackest eye of all time. Oh, and one more thing. Bless Nicki’s soul for that “Beez In The Trap” video.

26. Drake – Take Care – 17,000 - Look who’s creeping up on double platinum. That “HYFR” video was beyond dope, by the way.

36. Tyga – Careless World – 12,000 - Birdman’s somewhere rubbing his hands right now.

48. Young Jeezy – TM103 – 9,400 - I actually revisited some tracks from this the past week and I’m still convinced Boosie would have ripped “Never Been The Same.”

79. Diggy – Unexpected Arrival – 5,900 - The total numbers aren’t anywhere near where Young Simmons was expecting I’m sure, but there’s a lot to learn from where the debut album went wrong moving forward in his career.

113. Obie Trice – Bottoms Up – 4,400 - I haven’t listened to Obie in a long, long time. Therefore, I really cannot speak to the quality of this album. That said, hopefully his indie hustle is on its A-game.

Rising rapper Diggy Simmons recently put out his debut album Unexpected Arrival and one of the standout tracks other than his single “Do It Like You” was a deep track discussing African-Americans and the deep problems that are faced by the race in todays society. The producer of the song, Osinachi Nwaneri, sits down to talk about the track and how it came about. The song “Unforgivable Blackness” can be heard below.
