Being in Virginia means I miss out on a lot of dope shows. That’s not to say Richmond and/or the Hampton Roads area doesn’t land a marquee one every now and then, but nothing in comparison to the New York’s, DC’s, Chicago’s or Atlanta’s of the world. My homie Maurice Garland had been pumping a show in Atlanta for weeks which featured the likes of Juicy J, Dom Kennedy and Freddie Gibbs. That line up alone would have guaranteed me being in attendance had I lived in the A seeing as how I’m huge fans of all three.

While I obviously didn’t make the show, footage of the event is here and thanks to Mo and the Internet, we’re gracing it here on these pages. Here’s a quick synopsis of what Maurice had to say about the night, which appeared to be a huge success.

Not too much I can say about the show that isn’t in the video already. Juicy J was crunk as hell. He mostly did stuff from over the last two years, but he was still crunk as hell, being that he’s one of the originators of it.

Freddie and Dom granted my wish and did “Menace II Society” together which was dope. And of course, the city of Atlanta gave a demonstration of how you are supposed to behave at a rap concert.

Also be sure to check out the reviews from XXL and Creative Loafing. I’ve got to get out of VA, man.

Get More: Music News

In an interview with Sway on MTV news, Rick Ross is asked a few questions about the possible future for MMG. Sway mentions the rumors of Maybach possibly linking up with California rapper Dom Kennedy. Like a true “bawse” Rozay wouldn’t give any solid evidence about the rumor, but shouted out Dom and praised him for his efforts over on the west coast.

“I feel like that’s one of the west coast’s finest. Shout-out to Dom, that’s my homey for real,” he said.

What do you think about Dom Kennedy possibly being added to Maybach Music Group?
