Never heard of Don Trip? That’s fine. There’s no time like the present anyway. For those of you who are not familiar with Don, realize he is one of the more talked about “new” names in the game and it all centers around his own work ethic. There’s always a new tape, album or some sort of compilation in the works from Trip and what we have embedded above is a new record entitled “Die Slow.”
For as morbid as it may sound, this J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League produced number is for anyone who has ever made a point to stand in your way. Get down or lay down. Roll with Don or get rolled over. He’s given people those same choices all of his life. As you can tell by the title of the record, it’s gone both ways. Look for Trip to drop on his DJ Drama co-signed Guerilla.

In the new issue of XXL Magazine, Dr. Dre helms the cover as they caught up with him about his upcoming and much awaited Detox release. In the interview, they asked him about the current artists he’s been feeling lately:
Just recentley, actually, I’ve heard some really good artists. I’m a fan of J. Cole. I like Don Trip. Those two I was actually in this studio working with recently, and I really like their vibe. Especially J. Cole. I think that kid has a serious future ahead of him. He’s articulate. The way he speaks is – he’s got it. All he needs is the record now.
How about the veterans? Has it been interesting for you to watch some of your peers succeed along with you like Jay Z?
Oh yeah. I mean Jay is my favorite. I’m a huge Jay -Z fan. I love it. I’m waiting for his record right now. Hopefully, I’ll get a track on it. We’ll see. Â Yeah I love it. Because it helps keep alive the type of music that I love to do.
You can catch the rest of his interview and more when the issue hits stands next week. As usual, another KC exclusive.
