Rap supergroup Slaughterhouse and budding superstar Yelawolf have been signed to Eminem’s Shady Records it was announced today.

“Yelawolf and Slaughterhouse, it’s kinda phase two of Shady,” says Eminem.  “It’s the new generation of Shady Records and as we’re trying to rebuild our label, it’s exciting for hip-hop and with all of these forces coming together and with what everybody’s capable of on the mic, it’s gonna be fun.”

Bringing together the East Coast, West Coast and Detroit in the middle, Slaughterhouse consists of Crooked I, Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5’9”.  Most recently, Slaughterhouse was featured on “Session One,” a bonus track on Eminem’s 2010 blockbuster Recovery album.  Eminem is expected to be personally involved in Slaughterhouse’s sophomore album scheduled for release in 2011.

Late last year, Yelawolf released Trunk Muzik 0-60, a compilation of select tracks from his critically acclaimed 2010 mixtape Trunk Muzik, along with six previously unavailable songs.  The Alabama native is currently in the studio recording his full length major label debut.

“Considering where I’m from and the shit I’ve been through, it’s hard to put into words what partnering with Shady means to me, my team at Ghet-O-Vision, and my state of Alabama.  I can tell you that when you’re willing to give your life up to see a dream through, the reward is great.  And now that I’ve become an apprentice to one of the greatest artists in the world, my potential reaches beyond anything I ever imagined. Let’s kill this shit.”

It’s been a good week for Eminem. On Wednesday, his album “Recovery” was officially confirmed as 2010′s biggest-selling album, and now comes news that he’s set to return to Hollywood. The rapper, according to New York Magazine’s Vulture blog, intends to star in a 20th Century Fox crime thriller called “Random Acts of Violence.”

The film (which will be produced by Eminem’s Shady Films) was rumored to be in the works years ago with a plot that loosely followed the video game “Grand Theft Auto.” The script has since been reworked to a draft that’s reportedly more close to “The Town” or “The Departed.”

According to Vulture, Eminem will play “an ex-con smarter than his past, fresh out of prison and trying to stay legit — but his efforts are complicated by his old gang who wants him back on the job.” The FBI, meanwhile, is hoping he’ll wear a wire and bring down the crime syndicate. What happens? “The ex-con, meanwhile, tries to play both sides against each other long enough to exact revenge against those — on both sides of the law — who sent him to prison in the first place.”

This isn’t Eminem’s first stab at the big screen. He starred in “8 Mile” which was released in 2003 and made $242.8 million worldwide. “Lose Yourself,” a song from the film, won the Oscar for best song in 2003.

“Random Acts of Violence” is still in the final scripting stages; no release date is set.

2. Eminem – Recovery – 63,000 - In case anyone is wondering, this brings the total to a lump sum of 3.4M sold. If he continues to push 100K every two weeks, this could be four times platinum in no time.

4. Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday – 61,000 - Shipped platinum. About 150K away from selling a million copies. That’s a pretty safe bet to hit that some time by February.

5. Kanye West – My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy – 58,000 - The crazy thing is Kanye could have two albums go platinum in the same calendar year. Watch The Throne is set to hit stores on March 1.

7. Bruno Mars – Doo Wops & Hooligans – 45,000 - Pop music officially has a new star. Get his gold plaque ready. Hopefully, he’ll shoot a video for “Lazy Song” at some point though.

1. Taylor Swift – Speak Now – 276,000 - The holidays were kind to young Taylor as she moved over a quarter million units for an album that was released on October 25. I’m not sure of her total numbers are, but if there was any album capable of hitting diamond status, it’d be this one.

5. Michael Jackson – Michael – 150,000 – Mike should be gold in a few weeks. Somewhere, tears of joy stream down Joe Jackson’s face.

6. Jamie Foxx – Best Night Of My Life – 144,000 – This was actually Jamie’s highest debut ever and I’m actually surprised he sold this much. Still, I’ll give respect to him for it. He should have left the song “15 Minutes” to Mario though.

7. Eminem – Recovery – 137,000 - He. Just. Keeps. Selling. He’s now well over 3.3 million copies sold.

8. Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday – 133,000 - Guess who’s creeping up on platinum? Birdman and Slim win again.

9.  Keyshia Cole – Calling All Hearts – 128,000 - Like Foxx, I’m surprised she moved this much. Especially after the lack of support she received after going with Nicki on the first single.
