The other day on Twitter, someone mentioned G-Unit and Joe’s throwback debonair single, “Wanna Get To Know You.” And instantly, my man flashed back to that time in my life when G-Unit reigned supreme from a mainstream scheme, tall tees were all the rage and jean shorts were still cool. Allow me to wax poetics with the following random thoughts.

It appears news surrounding one of the few incidents at the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2012 refuses to die down. As it is known, a scuffle had broken out between MMG‘s Gunplay and a few camp members associated with 50 Cent. While Gunplay made a visit to an Atlanta radio station, he confirmed that his chain was taken during the run-in. 50 Cent now has the chain and he decided to wear it as he went bowling at Lucky Strikes in D.C. 50 Cent Talks About His Frustration with Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo

In a world where G-Unit once ruled all and the Hip-Hop and Rap scene was dominated by 50 Cent and members Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo, we hear only crickets from the crew as it’s apparent they no longer run tight together. Leaving many guessing as to why it’s gotten to this point, 50 stated last month he hadn’t spoken to Banks in over 9 months. He sat down with Big Boy a couple of days ago to touch on this subject and clear the air on what exactly seems to be the problem. Hit the jump to view the video/audio footage from the on-air interview.

I was so close to using a “Pauly D Shoring Up Deal With 50 Cent,” but TMZ already beat me to the punch. For anyone who has ever watched MTV’s highly popular (and controversial) show, “Jersey Shore,” they know of Pauly D’s musical career. Aside from avoiding grenades and setting chicks out with fellow cast member Vinnie, Pauly is making a name for himself outside of the show and it may soon include breaking break with Curtis Jackson.

Sources close to negotiations tell TMZ, the “Jersey Shore” DJ met with Fiddy and his people in NYC last week — where they discussed the lucrative record deal … and also tossed around the idea of a Pauly D merchandise line, specifically Pauly D-brand headphones.

Nothing’s signed yet — but according to sources, 50 wants to hammer out the deal ASAP … before Pauly jets off to Italy to shoot “Jersey Shore” Season 4.

Fist pump.

Launched on 10/10/10, Al Lindstorm’s new website – www.allindstrom.com – looks to provide in-depth coverage of the Hip-Hop world from both an entertaining and informing viewpoint. Throughout the first month, look for features from Wiz Khalifa, DJ Premier, Joe Budden, Dru Ha, Sha Money XL and myself.

For the first interview, Al sits down with Sha Money, otherwise known as one of the most influential figures in the careers of 50 Cent and the entire G-Unit. In what will be the first of a four part series, Al and Sha chop it up about the early G-Unit days, his first encounter with 50, their start in the mixtape game and important that avenue was. Interesting enough, Sha compares the legendary mixtape run they had to that of the present day influence of Big K.R.I.T.

Be on the lookout for part two later this week.
