Prior to Jason Terry being powerbombed through the TD Garden floor by LeBron James, much of the discussion on Twitter yesterday centered around Kendrick Lamar’s “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe (Remix)” featuring some marginally successful rapper/mogul/father/husband/minority owner of a NBA franchise/Beyonce’s husband/President Obama’s BFF you may heard of – Jay-Z. Talks of Jay being outclassed by Kendrick and, on the contrary, destroying his appearance (in a good way) were all anyone felt like arguing debating for at least a good two hours. While I didn’t participate for a variety of reasons (a proposal due here at work in a few days), the conversation forced me to put my thinking (fitted) cap on. Compton’s son, Kendrick Lamar took the stage at the Samsung Galaxy Note II Release Party in Los Angeles last Thursday to perform the Hit-Boy produced track “Backseat Freestyle.” The song has become a crowd favorite off of K.Dot’s debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, released last Monday. Though the crowd is kinda dead, it definitely doesn’t take away from it being a dope performance.

Kendrick Lamar is still making this week his very own as he continues to celebrate the debut of good kid, m.A.A.d. city and share the moments with his diehard fans. After an in-store signing at Union Squares Best Buy, Kendrick took the stage to perform ‘Money Trees‘ for the first time and even brought out Jay Rock to spit his golden verse.
