Gucci Mane feat. T.I. & Rocko – “Plain Jane” Remix

Call it a collaboration of epic southern proportions. Gucci Mane called on T.I. and Rocko to be featured on the remix to his track “Plain Jane” which is featured on “Trap Back” mixtape. In the song, T.I. makes reference to “poppin pills on Sunset” which is the exact place where he was arrested in 2010 for drug possession in his Maybach. While Gucci has released this for us to enjoy, he is already working on his next mixtape, “I’m Up.” Listen to the track below.

There’s a first time for everything and for the first time, Gucci Mane hooks up with T.I. for the very first time. This track first appeared on Gucci Mane’s “Trap Back” mixtape but only featured Rocko. Be on the lookout for Gucci’s upcoming “I’m Up” mixtape which is coming soon.

Quiet as kept, Gucci’s Trap Back mixtape is dope. Hearing him go back to the music that basically caused the uproar around him a few years back was encouraging and proof he’s actually listening to some of the critiques about his output as of late. My only concern is if Radric can stay out of trouble long enough to capitalize off the project. As it stands, however, one of the standout records was the Yo Gotti collaboration, “I’m In Love With A White Girl.” Let that title marinate for a moment. After that, feel free to click play and resume watching.

And now that I think about it, I never posted La Flare’s new tape, so hit the jump to snag that for the weekend.

Yes, Gucci. Now we’re on the right track. I can’t guarantee I’ll be checking out Gucci’s Trap Back mixtape on Sunday. And that’s mainly due to the fact it drops 10:17 and I’ll probably still be at a Super Bowl party in Maryland somewhere tossing back brews while praying the Giants lose. That being said, I still have to give La Flare some credit. He’s sticking to the sound which brought him to the height of his fame back in 2009. And what’s that, you ask?

It’s no real set formula, rather you know quintessential Gucci Mane when you hear it. Working with Zaytoven is always a good thing as it relates to him mainly because of the catalog they’ve amassed over the past half decade and “Face Card” is a welcomed addition. The video is crisply shot, yet may not do much to add any added depth to the video. But it doesn’t matter because Gucci finally appears to be on the verge of releasing something I can actually anticipate. That’s all that matters.

You know I like numbering things. Here we go.

1. Gucci Mane has disappointed over the past two years, but I’d lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued by Trap Back which is set to drop February 5.

2. Seeing how 2 Chainz turns a positive 2011 into an even more lucrative 2012 is something I’ll be keeping my eye on all year.

3. This may be “ignorant,” but I have a soft spot in my heart for the music you play on Saturday night, pre gaming with friends. It will always have a place in Hip-Hop regardless of what anybody says.

Well, damn. Look what we have here. As it turns out, that Gucci and Zaytoven tape is here a day after Christmas. Below you’ll find an embed player to the release thanks to the good folks at livemixtapes.com. As expected, it’s a compilation of their greatest work together, which is almost good (if not better) than new material. This strictly for the car. Don’t disrespect your ears or your opinion by listening to this on computer speakers. Well, unless you have some Beats. But that’s the only exception.

Say look, as a person who has been a fan of Gucci, I’ll be the first to admit a lot of his recent material I’ve been less than thrilled with. With that being said, if this actually comes to fruition, it has no choice but to something pretty damn special. For those not in the loop, Gucci Mane and Zaytoven have created nothing short of bangers over the years, highlighted by my personal favorite, the oldie but goodie, “Street Nigga.” That being said, this video with the two confirm an upcoming mixtape entitled The Hood Classics will be dropping and they look to be rather damn excited about the project.

Pencil me in as interested. Before that though, La Flare will be dropping East Atlanta Santa with DJ Holiday this weekend.
