Beyoncé and Jay-Z were in quite the party-hearty mood Monday night.

The superstar couple went all-out glam to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hova’s 40/40 Club in New York City, bringing some serious star power to the 10-and-still-going-strong Manhattan hot spot.

The rapper looked dapper in a silver-gray suit, while his ladylove rocked a long white sequined cut-out dress that highlighted her signature curves.

After arriving at the club, the two hightailed it to their VIP table, where they were seen busting out some sweet PDA, holding hands as Beyoncé repeatedly kissed her hubby on cheek. (more…)

With yesterday’s announcement of his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail, right before the halftime show of Game 5 of the NBA Finals, Jay-Z has easily taken over the minds of Hip-Hop lovers and internet sites everywhere. Taking to Twitter today, as he rarely does, Hov let off a series of tweets speaking on the innovation that has taken place with the release of works by his artists and those he is closely affiliated with. Citing the releases from Kanye West, J. Cole & Wale as evidence, Hov proclaims that the “new rules” of Hip-Hop are already in motion. As the Miami Heat faced off against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 5 of the NBA finals Sunday night, a curious TV ad aired near the end of the second quarter featuring rap star Jay-Z in a studio, riffing with a cast of characters including producer Rick Rubin and artist Pharrell Williams. At one point, a member of the posse is shown taking notes on a tablet device. More than two minutes into the three-minute video Samsung Electronics Co.  tagline flashes across the screen: “The Next Big Thing.”

The connection: Samsung has purchased 1 million copies of Jay-Z’s coming album, entitled “Magna Carta Holy Grail,” slated for release July 4, and plans to give them to Samsung Galaxy smartphone users for free – 72 hours ahead of the release. The users are to receive the music through an app they’ll receive later this month. (Recipients won’t be able to share it until the official release date.)

Samsung paid $5 apiece for the albums, according to a person familiar with the matter. It wasn’t immediately clear if Nielsen SoundScan will count Samsung’s purchases in its sales tallies.
