Solange gives her latest single a huge lift with a brand new verse from Kendrick Lamar. This first appeared on her “True” EP last year but without Kendrick and now with him being added, Solange has decided to run with the record and it is available for purchase on iTunes right now. Last week in episode one of J.Cole‘ “Born Sinner” series, we heard from Cole’s mother Kay Cole and her thought process in retiring from the post office. Tonight, we have episode two of J.Cole’s series and it features his good friend, Kendrick Lamar. During the audio, Kendrick touches on how he utilizes his rapping skills and why he raps the way he does, advice given to him by Erykah Badu and much more.

Off of one of the best hip-hop albums of the past year, Kendrick Lamar fires up the cameras for the official video to a fan favorite off of the album, “Bitch, Don’t Kill My Vibe“. All of Kendrick’s visuals are usually better than everyone else’s and the streak continues with this one. Mike Epps and Juicy J make cameos as well. “Good Kid, m.A.A.d City” in stores now.

Erykah Badu Gives Kendrick Lamar A Q&A Session for Interview Magazine

Interview Magazine is known for their particularly cutting edge pieces on some of hip-hop’s frontrunners and fresh faces (strongly recommend reading the A$AP Rocky March 2013 Cover Story). In the newest issue of Interview, the soulful songstress Erykah Badu gets to chop it up with Kendrick Lamar for a dope Question and Answer session. Badu taps into questions about K.Dot’s family life, his top ten MC’s (in no particular order), and even offers him some veteran advice for the future of his career. With much anticipation, Hot 97 let go of the official line-up to this years Summer Jam which will be at Met Life Stadium in New Jersey on June 2nd. This line-up has people debating and talking about who should be there and who shouldn’t, and in my opinion, the line-up could have been a lot better. Hopefully the show is just as good as the past ones have been.

8. Kid Cudi – Indicud – 36,000 – Following a few listens, this album personally didn’t do much for me. It’s selling well, so congrats to buddy for that. “Pursuit Of Happiness,” however, is one of the most important life songs of the past decade though. No hyperbole.
