When Nike aligned itself with Michael Jordan, the brand (and Mike) was never the same again, catapulting themselves to charts unseen before or since. Nike became more than brand of shoes and athletic wear. Nike became synomous with its generation with every fashionable, up-to-date and “must-have.” The lesson in all this? That perfect endorsement only comes around once every 15-20 years or so. ESPN The Magazine chronicled one of the current generation which paired one of rap’s most iconic names with basketball’s biggest attraction – Dr. Dre and LeBron James.  (more…)

3 Kings were present in Miami a few nights ago, King James, King Chainz and King Wayne. During a show in North Miami, 2 Chainz surprised the sold out crowd by bringing out Miami Heat superstar Lebron James and following that up with YMCMB general Lil Wayne. Looks like it was a hell of a show.

NBA: Finals-Oklahoma City Thunder at Miami Heat

Rick Ross won’t be the only one in Miami that can tell people to Kiss the Ring. Last Night, The Miami Heat clinched their 4th victory versus the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 NBA Finals, making them the 2012 Champions. 121-106 was the final score last night with noteworthy performances from more than just the Heat’s Big 3 (Lebron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh). Mike Miller hit an astounding 7 three-pointers last night. But the man of the hour for sure was Lebron James who was also named Finals MVP. James became only the fifth player in NBA history to score a triple-double in a game that ended the series. James had the following to say about the victory.

“I’m happy now that eight years later, nine years later since I’ve been drafted, that I can finally say that I’m a champion, and I did it the right way. I didn’t shortcut anything. You know, I put a lot of hard work and dedication in it, and hard work pays off. It’s a great moment for myself.”

Highlights from the game are available above in case you missed anything last night.

Minutes after game ended, Nike aired an ad featuring Lebron’s journey to victory. The ad is available below.

Congratulations to the Heat!

NBA: Playoffs-Boston Celtics at Miami Heat

It was this photo of Russell Westbrook that caught my attention. NBA players need a little more credits; or at least their stylists do if they have one. The evolution of style that has taken place over the last few years among the players during post game press conferences is to be commended. Gone are the days of showing up in a sweaty jersey, to answer a few questions from the media. Of course, we have the 2005 Dress Code to thank for part of this, but some players are going above and beyond the mandated “Business Casual” attire. They instead are wearing button downs, ties, hankies, blazers and this year’s favorite, the glasses. Lots of players are rocking frames as the ultimate accessory. The Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder are both holding their weight in uplifting the images of ballers. Here are a few shots of looks we’ve seen this season from players like Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, Russell Westbrook, and Kevin Durant.

Stalley Party Heart

Stalley continues his promotion of his new Savage Journey To The American Dream project which is out today. He stopped by Invasion Radio with DJ Green Lantern and Boss Lady to recite a few bars for the listening audience. After the jump you can catch the official video to Rick Ross & Stalley’s “Party Heart” track which was first heard on Rozay’s Rich Forever mixtape. The track originally featured 2 Chainz but he does not appear in the video for some reason, but the video does feature cameos from Lebron James and Dwyane Wade.
