Lecrae Fires Off On 106 & Park’s The Backroom [Freestyle]

The lyrically ill & positive rapper Lecrae stops through BET’s 106 & Park Backroom special to drop an extremely dope freestyle. The backroom features a space where artist can come and get gritty and spit bars compared to the commercialized “calm cool & collected” appearance they have to maintain on stage. Lecrae does just that, but in a positive light as the knowledgeable MC puts his positive message of simple awareness back into hip hop. Check it out after the jump!

New Music Video: Lecrae x Big K.R.I.T. x Ashton Jones “Mayday”

Influential and well spoken rapper Lecrae is back to team up with Big K.R.I.T. & Ashton Jones in this new video to “Mayday”. The three “lyrical composers” for lack of better terms, take their message to church and things get real. Artist like Lecrae always have a message to bring, battling the rights and wrongs in life, and especially in music. The constant battle of sin is what the pair dabble on as Big K.R.I.T. heads up the organ and Lecrae graces the pughes in the congregation. Ashton Jones laces the track up nicely with her vocals and this track is a sure message. Check out the video after the jump…

3. Lupe Fiasco – Lasers - 47,000 - The album that almost never happened appears to be doing quite well in the sales department. Too bad the reviews haven’t matched the numbers however. That being said, I wouldn’t mind seeing them actually push “Words I Never Said” with Skylar Grey.

4. Travis Barker – Give The Drummer Some – 28,000 - Regardless of what this album eventually goes on to sale (it feels like it could have been promoted better; that’s not Barker’s fault though), Travis will still be one of the cooler musicians on the planet. That record he has with the Clipse and Kobe is mean though.

10. Marsha Ambrosius – Late Nights & Early Mornings – 28,000 - This brings the lump sum to approximately 165,000. I’d love to see Marsha top out at 300,000 (which are great sales these days). LNEM is definitely a must have for those one-on-one evenings.

14. Nicki Minaj – Pink Friday – 25,000 – She just keeps selling. 1.2M and climbing.
